Scripture Text: Ezekiel 37:3–5 “And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.”
Introduction:
In Ezekiel 37, the prophet Ezekiel is taken by the Spirit of the Lord into a valley full of dry bones.
This vision comes at a time when the people of Israel are in exile, scattered, broken, and spiritually dead.
Their hope had faded, and their future seemed bleak. In this desolate scene, God asks Ezekiel a question: “Can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:3).
The dry bones represent Israel, a nation that once flourished but now lies in ruin, seemingly beyond repair.
But God gives Ezekiel a divine instruction: “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.” (Ezekiel 37:4).
And as Ezekiel obeys and speaks the word of the Lord, the bones begin to come together, but there is still no life in them. It is at this moment that God declares: “Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.” (Ezekiel 37:5).
The breath that God promises is His Spirit—the breath that brings life, renewal, and revival.
It is a powerful symbol of God's ability to revive what seems dead, hopeless, and beyond redemption.
Today we’re stepping into the valley where nothing, but dry bones lie before us!
Ezekiel was standing in a place of desolation, a place where all hope seemed lost, where life had long faded.
Some of you have walked into this church today feeling like those dry bones, feeling like your situation is dead, your dreams are shattered, your faith is dry.
But the Word of the Lord says, "I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live!"
I came to tell somebody today, God’s breath is about to enter your situation!
The Spirit of the Living God is here to breathe life back into the things that you thought were finished!
God sent me here to speak to some dry bones, some lifeless dreams, some broken marriages, some dead situations, and declare—you shall live!
Let’s get into this word.
I. God Sees What You Don’t See
I. God Sees What You Don’t See
Ezekiel 37:3 (ESV) – "And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’"
Ezekiel 37:3 (ESV) – "And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’"
A. Before the breath comes, there is a question. "Can these bones live?"
B. Ezekiel didn’t know the answer, but God knew!
1. You might not see life in your situation, but God sees beyond your circumstances.
2. God doesn’t ask you because He doesn’t know—He asks to reveal where your faith is!
C. You’re looking at your finances, your health, your relationships, and you’re saying, “It’s over!”
1. But God says, “I see what you don’t see!” The bones may look dry, but God sees life!
Oh, I feel the Spirit rising in this place!
2. God is saying to someone today—don’t look with your natural eyes, look with the eyes of faith!
3. God is about to turn your “I don’t know” into a “Yes, Lord!”
“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” (Job 33:4, ESV)
II. God’s Word Speaks to What is Dead
II. God’s Word Speaks to What is Dead
Ezekiel 37:4 (ESV) – "Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’"
Ezekiel 37:4 (ESV) – "Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’"
A. There’s power in God’s Word!
1. You don’t speak life into dead things WITH YOUR OWN WORDS—you speak what God says!
2. Ezekiel didn’t give the bones a motivational speech; he spoke the Word of the Lord!
B. God told him to prophesy over the bones…
1. To prophesy to it means, “To Give life to it.”
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” (Proverbs 18:21, ESV)
2. Whatever comes out of your mouth you give death or life to.
Some of you are so busy speaking death over your life and then you complain about what you have spoken over.
“From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.” (James 3:10, ESV)
C. When your situation seems dead, don’t just cry about it, don’t just complain about it—prophesy to it!
1. Somebody needs to start speaking life into their home, into their children, into their ministry.
2. It’s time to open your mouth and declare, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!”
- Dead marriage, hear the word of the Lord!
- Dead body, hear the word of the Lord! Etc…
D. God’s Word carries power to resurrect, to revive, to restore.
1. When God’s Word enters a place, death has to bow down!
2. Dry bones have to rattle and come back together.
3. You need to let God’s Word speak louder than your fear!
III. God’s Breath Brings Transformation

Ezekiel 37:5 (ESV) – "Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live."
A. Here it is, church!
1. It’s not just about bones coming together—it’s about the breath of God filling those bones!
2. When God breathes on something, it’s transformed!
3. His breath is the power of the Holy Spirit moving in your life.
4. It’s the same breath that breathed into Adam and made him a living being.
5. It’s the same breath that Jesus released when He said, “Receive the Holy Spirit!” (John 20:22).
B. Some of you have been trying to piece your life back together, but you’re missing the breath of God!
1. It’s His Spirit that makes things alive again. I declare today, the Spirit of God is about to breathe on your family, breathe on your ministry, breathe on your health! You shall live!
C. You don’t need more strategies, you need the breath of God!
1. When His breath touches your situation, resurrection power is released!
2. That dead business? It shall live!
· That broken heart? It shall live!
· That lifeless dream? It shall live!
· That broken marriage? It shall live!
· The sick body? It shall live!
