Who are you in “The power of Grace”

Luke 9:28–36 (LEB)

Now it happened that about eight days after these words, he took along Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. And as he was praying, the appearance of his face became different, and his clothing became white, gleaming like lightning. And behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and were speaking about his departure which he was about to fulfill in Jerusalem.

Now Peter and those with him were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were standing with him. And it happened that as they were going away from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. And let us make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he was saying. And while he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud. And a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!” And after the voice had occurred, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.

We saw that

They went up in the Mountain to pray (28) Most probably Mount Hermon or Mount Tabor.

His apperance Changed in v29 Like Lightening and his cloth bright as light.

Moses an Elijah apperared there in Glorious (Heavenly Glory) they were not rich in earth.

Moses Received Law Elijah was one of the Greatest Prophet of Israel .

These also clearifies that Jesus is not Elijah nor ancient Prophets (Luke 9: 19-20) also he came to fulfill both Law and Prophet(Mat 5:17)

v30 we see Jesus Elijah and Moses were talking.

v31 fulfillment at Jerusalem of his Divin Mission.

v33 Its is good for us to be here (It shows that they were afraid of the sight they just saw.)

v33 they also made three shelter.

V34 While Peter was speaking Cloud appeared and cover them.

This Cloud Represent LORD

When we read OT we see this as Sekhina Glory (Fire and Cloud).

When we read Exodus 19 we see that God will come In the form of Cloud to Meet Moses and Isralities.

In OT the condition is diffrent Exodus 19:21 if anyone touches the foot of the Mountain will be dead. God was so serious with this that on V 21 we see this warning again.

Moses understood the seriousness and assured LORD that People won’t come near the mountain.

We see here a serious Gap between God and Man. there is no way God is allowing Man to be united with God Directly, even for the selected prist they had to consecrated themselve

But Luke 9:34 is diffrent The cloud came and cover all three of them. wow!!

This is the Power of Grace which we receive from Jesus. we also see the fulfilment of Jhon 14:6 because of Jesus God cam directly to man and even talked to them

The cloud came and cover all six of them directly and God spoke to the Mens directly.

This is the power of Grace.

With Law it was not possible to unite man directly to God.

With the Grace of Jesus man are can meet God.

In Law GOd warns them not to come near.

in Grace God came to meet them without warning.

with Law you are Judge

with Grace you are forgiven.

if you were paying attention you might have notice i skiped V 32.

It is Intereasting to to Read V32

Now Peter and those with him were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were standing with him.

Our sleeping state resembles our spritual condition as dull.

Peter, James and Jhon were unable to see the Glory of God as long as they were dull in spirit.

but as soon as the awake they saw the wonderful sight that no other man has seen.
