Matthew 8:28-34

Matthew 8:28–34 KJV 1900

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

I have given birth to 9 children, but I have 8 children. I have 6 boys and 2 girls. I went from

having 6 kids to 5 and from 5 to 8. When I share that the last 3 of my children are triplets

people say, Thats a blessing. They come up to me and tell me that you are blessed and my

response is Thats what I they say. ppl would see us out and say are they triplets I and I say yes

and they say Thats such a blessing and my response is Oh is that right. My response was not a

response of not believing that having triplets we not a blessing. My response was based on

perception. You felt that I was blessed because you precevied that giving birth to triplets was

unique and different those leading you to call it a blessing.

Perception is something that we all use to determine an outcome. Perception is the process of

organizing, identifying, and interpreting sensory information to understand the environment.

So in order words perception is a process that we use to make a decion on a matter. our

primary means of perception is our sensory nevous system. out of the 11 millions recptors,

sight takes up most of it. Because of this we can create an envirornment where we see what

we want to see, totally based off your perception.

Accoro thext Jesus made it to the other side and ended up on

in the city Geres. and immediately he was met by two that was possessed with devils. People

of God as your going on your journey and you begin to enter into new territories you will be

met by the enemy. The devils Job was to stop Jesus before he ever gotten started and the

same applies for you. Youve been fraustrated, confused and at your wits end because you

can’t understand for the life of you why you cant catch a break. we’ll I like to inform you that

we are no greater than our master and if it happened to him it will happen to you. You cant

catch a break becasue you have to be stopped before you ever get started . you can not come

into who you are suppose to be in God becuase it disrupts the plans of the enemy therefore

you must be stopped.

Jesus was not only met by a possessed man but this man wasnt just possed with demons he

was possed with devils. If I could just for a moment break down this down to you and give you

a real quick crash course in demonology. In the realm of darkness theirs ranks and to keep it

simple you have demons and devils. Demons are under the strict order of devils. These devils

are more powerful, evil and wicked than demons. Which implies that Jesus Christ was

somebody and that devils had to approach him instead of demons. The bible said that they

were firce and no one went by where they were. These devils used an age old trick to control

the masses called Intimidation. Intimadation is the use of unwanted force to someone to do

something and if they dont do what they want them to do theyll be consequences. The most

interesting fact about a person thst uses intimadating tactics is that they realize that you are

somebody and that you really hold the power and truth of the matter is you are more

powerful than them. ( talk about bugs life)

these Devils intimated a whole country and now Jesus steps off the boat and they

immediately recongize who he is. Every demon and devil in hell know exactly who you are

even tho you may not have come into the realization of who you really are. They know you by

your name becasue your name is great and they know you becasue you are an airs and joint

airs with chirst. So when they see you they reconize you as sons and daugthers of God. If I can

encourage you for a moment and what to tell you that you are something special in the

eyesight of God and you are also on the devils radar as a threat to his kingdom. This is why

your struggling to pray as much, your struggling to read your bible, your stuggling to

concentrate, your struggling to be dedicated your stuggling in your mind and body all because

he has to find a way to stop you before you really come into who you are. So these devils

asked him what are you doing here Are you here to torment us before our time. Jesus’s

presence caused these devils to be afraid. They were tormented by the very presence of Jesus.

Now faith I want to encourage you again and remind you that your not going to be like by

everybody, your not going to be accepted into group or click, your not going to be invited into

every gathering, gala or get together, you are not going to called upon and you are going to be

over looked. Why? is that you ask its becasue your very presence torments them. You anit said

nothing, you anit did nothing, your just being you and the enemy hates that because you

being you torments him. NOw this is where the story takes a turn and get interesting, These

devils saw a herd of pigs and ask Jesus if he cast them out of the man can they he casted into

the swine and jesus said sure. This was a showcase of Jesus devine control and that nothing

happens witout his permission. When everything seems to go wrong in your life dont worry

cause he’s in control. when life be lifen dont worry casue he sin control. when your

circumstances takes a turn for the worst dont you worry cause God is in control. Jesus is in

control of it all so dont worry or stress hes fully in control and theres nothing thats going to

happen to you unless he allows it.

So he gave them premission to enter into a herd of swine, and when they entered into the

swine the heard ran violently in the sea and the heard of swine died. Do you ever wonder why

it seem like ppl all round you be acting crazy. Have you ever thought that Jesus allowed

certain devils to enter into others but not you and your just seeing the resuklts of a wonderful

God protection you for danger seen and unseen and alllowing it to be them and not you.

The one that were tending to the swine ran back with they big mouth and told all that they

had seen. They were there from the time time Jesus got off the time till the time that the

devils were casted out of the man. They had a choice to welcome Jesus and thank him for

saving them and freeing them from the possesd man or they could have resnted jesus for

interfering in their day to day activities. This is was what your preception is cencerning a

matter reallty matters. your preception of thing can make or break a person, it can build up or

tear down. The person that ran back and started to tell the story with they big mouth really

had no idea what was going on so they were only able to tell the story from their percotion,

The ppl cof Geres were hellinistic in nature that worship greek gods, they were a gentile nation

and Jesus was really no body important to them. Becuase of a few individuals with big

mouths that ran back and told all that they saw it caused the whole country to come out and

reject Jesus.

It made me think was the devil possessed man really blocking the ppl from being free or were

they ok with being in bondage, ( watch this ) cause even after the man himself was free they

still rejected Jesus. That brings me to a place mentally, where I begin to question the validatity

and sencerity of ppl when they say I have a strong hold, I have a problem, I have an issue and I

cant let it go. Is it that you cant let it go or you dont to let it go. We hide behind our desires and

lust and we make excuses for the things we do and say and hide it under the blank of I need to

be delivered, pray for me. when the truth of the matter is you dont want to be delivered, you

dont want to be set free. You like the place your in, you love this place called sin, your ok with

gambleing with life and the afterlife. (Now what you go and say that for ) Becasue you seen

with your own two eyes people go from bondage to free, sick to heal, destruction to destiny,

victim to victorious, broke to wealthy, down to up, unsaved to saved and when its your turn to

be free you reject Jesus.

Jesus coming to share the good news with this country would be good for them he came with

glad tidings but all they saw was loss. Its all about your preception, is the galss have empty or

half Full.
