Words Matter

Romans 10:8 ESV
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);

What is the Word of Faith?

rhema (ῥη̂μα, 4487), “that which is said, a word,

The Rhema word is the Spoken word
Paul writes the word of faith-
what is faith?

to believe to the extent of complete trust and reliance—‘to believe in, to have confidence in, to have faith in, to trust, faith, trust.’

Paul is Speaks of the Words that Pour out of our Heart-
We are Like sponges that when we get squeezed what is in our hearts come out

What Do you Speak?

You confess what you believer
Jesus Said -
Matthew 12:34 ESV
You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
The heart is the seat of belief
Deuteronomy 30:14 ESV
But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.
You can do it! By Faith you can do you!
Moses Spoke this verse to the people when He set before them the choice of Life or death- Deut 30:15-20- Speak Life-
Speak faith
Speak the Word of God
Proverbs 18:21–22 (ESV)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits.

The enemy uses words-

2 Kings 19:8–13 ESV
The Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria fighting against Libnah, for he heard that the king had left Lachish. Now the king heard concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, “Behold, he has set out to fight against you.” So he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you by promising that Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria. Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, devoting them to destruction. And shall you be delivered? Have the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar? Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?’ ”
2 Chronicles 32:15–19 ESV
Now, therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this fashion, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand!’ ” And his servants said still more against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah. And he wrote letters to cast contempt on the Lord, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, “Like the gods of the nations of the lands who have not delivered their people from my hands, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people from my hand.” And they shouted it with a loud voice in the language of Judah to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them, in order that they might take the city. And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they spoke of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.
This is the Tactic of the enemy in our lives
He comes to steal kill and destroy-
John 10:10 ESV
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
It is His purpose for your life.

so what is the Word of Faith?-

Speaking the truth of God’s Word-
Psalm 119:105 ESV
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
It leads
It shows me the way
It identifies any traps
The Word is also a sword-
Ephesians 6:17 ESV
and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
It is how we wage war against the enemy
Hezekiah did 2 Kings 19:14-19
2 Kings 19:14–19 ESV
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord and spread it before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said: “O Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. Incline your ear, O Lord, and hear; open your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to mock the living God. Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed. So now, O Lord our God, save us, please, from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Lord, are God alone.”

What do you do?

1 Corinthians 10:11 ESV
Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.
