TWO DEMON POSSESSED MEN

INTRODUCTION

And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.”

How do you think the demons were able to recognize Jesus as the Son of God, when in the previous chapter the scribes could not? (Note Mark 3:22ff)

The Demons Had a Better Idea of Who Jesus was than the Scribes and even His Disciples.

Jesus Christ Did a Big Miracle (Again)

The Herdsmen Told the Whole City

The Townspeople didn’t Recognize who Jesus was but were afraid of Him.

Jesus Commands the Man to Tell Everyone about Him

Mark 5:18–20 (ESV)

As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.

But Jesus Christ commands me today ....

Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
