INRTRO

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
The in Him is in Christ
and the redemption talked about here has the idea of being paid for the sake of freedom .
redemption has the idea of the price being paid for your freedom
you were redeemed
you were bought with a price
think of a culvers ice cream coupon … through your coupon you reddemed your ice cream .... it was paid for
more accurately , you owed a debt and someone pays your bond to get you out of jail
this redemption includes the forgivnes of sins
in Christ you have freedom from the penalty of your sin
and the power of sin over your life..
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
so How do we recieve this freedom…
verse 7 says it is by the blood
this is spiritual....
people get freaked out when we say things like we are washed in the blood of Christ....
people got freaked out and left Jesus When He said you need to eat of my flesh and drink of my blood---
He was talking of communion
these are spiritual sayings
that paint truth
The truth being painted here is that you were bought with a price
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
This verse tells us to glorify God with our bodies
and then reminds us that our freedom was bought with a price
freedom denotes we were slaves to sin
now we are freed from sin to be in fellowship with God
now you might say arent we called slaves to do Gods will…
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
let me tell you the difference
when a slave was offered freedom in the ancient jewish world
he had the opportunity to willingly become a slave of His owner
He may do that out of love
He would put his ear up to the door post and they would pierce his ear
letting the blood drip down the doorpost
He would then become a bondslave
this is the picture that we use to say
we have been freed from sin
and out of love become a bondslave of Christ
meaning we love to do His will
serve Him
because of our love for Him and what He did on the cross
by His blood,
The perfect man , being God in the flesh
died a sinners death in our place
by His blood
we become free in Him
through the forgivness of our sin
giving us the ability to have a relationship with a perfectly good and righteous God.
having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
This verse speaks to illumination
Q. How did he make known the mystery of His will?
Through Christ on the cross .
This has always been the plan and it has been revealed to us in Christ..
These are things Abraham and Moses and David longed to look upon.
And we see that the goal is to gather up all things together in Christ.
God will gather everything under the rule and reign of Christ
some will be gathered to heaven through the forgivness of sin
only wrought through faith in Christ
others will be gathered to eternal punishment in hell where
they will pay the penalty for their sin
Daniel speaks of the Resurrection at the end of time
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
wether in grace or punishment all things will be brought together in Christ
this means that everything is about Christ
All of your efforts in this life will be summed up in Christ in the end
unite all of your life to Jesus
unite all of your life to Jesus
We want to do this becaause He is the one we live for
God has the work of the unity of all things in your life to Christ
The purpouse in eternity is to have all people glorifying Jesus in Heaven
No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
This is the reality and we ought to bring that into reality while still on earth
a famous preacher once said
All of Christ for All of Life
lets work on unifying all things in our life to Christ
Do all that you do for the Lord
Do all that you do for the Lord
One way to bring your life together in unity with Christ
is to do all things for the glory of God
now the first thing you need to do is to Love Christ more than anybody

cultivate your relationship with Him
and as you grow in understanding of the mystery of Gods will
for you
to be loved by Him
and to be with Him as your God forever
it will be natural to want to do all things for His Glory
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Q. What do you like to do --- do it for the glory of God
Q. What do you want to do for work? do it for the gloryb of God
Q. Where do you want to go to lunch today?
Q. What do your relationships look like
the love for your family is meant to display the Glory of God
your life is meant to display the glory of God
do you get the point.... bring everything you do into harmony with the purpouse of God
Know the value of His Love
Know the value of His Love
in order to bring all of our life in unity with Christ is knowing
the value of His love
There is nothing more valuable than knowing the Love of God -
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
We see the words in Him again
because all things will be unified in Him
the purpouse of life itself is Jesus ---it is in Him
and in Him is grace ---- gift undeserved
this gift is an inheritance
and it is given out of Love
to the praise of His glory
We also see that He works all things according to the counsel of His will
this means God is working and governing all things in this world according to His will.... This is his will of decree..
He uses everything in your life and orchestrates everything in the world down to the smallest bird of the sky to achieve His purpouses.
one of the purpouses He has is to work out salvation in peoples lives
the question is , has he worked salvation in your life?
He offers it to you everyday
if you would look to Jesus and believe the gospel
that He lived a perfect life in your place
and died a sinners death in your place
that He was raised from the grave 3 days later
and if you believe on Him and give Him your life,
you will be saved
If He has workded salvation in your life
know this, your salvation is secure by what He did
know we can focus on turning over our lives
to make all of Christ
all of our life
you can unite your entire life to glorify Jesus
you can do all that you do for the glory of Jesus
and you can know the value of His love
this will lead you to a full and meaningful life…
and you will recieve your purpouse
to make all of your life
glorify Christ
