Opening Scripture:
Opening Scripture:
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
In order to effectively make disciples we MUST have a genuine love for all people.
Walking in love imitates the Character of Jesus.
Discipleship is to be built and established upon the foundation of Love.
the Love of Christ holds us to a standard of how we treat and care for one another.
Walking In Love NOT Hate…
Walking In Love NOT Hate…
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
Often times we can have hidden anger or hate in our hearts towards a group of people or maybe a single person
If we say that we Love God but don’t love our fellow brother or sister then we are only deceiving ourselves.
We can be aware of any hidden hate but evaluating ourselves in how we treat others according to the word of God, the discernment of the Holy Spirit, and the Character of Jesus.
We can not walk in love if we are walking in pride… pride is an excessive amount of love for self and not for others.
we can not walk in love if we are walking in self righteousness… looking for ways to control or manipulate people.
When we walk outside of the parameter of love it can position us in a place where we can then begin walking in hate.
Love Opens The Door…
Love Opens The Door…
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
It was the sacrifice that Jesus paid for all of us that opened a door to freedom and salvation.
LOVE was the key that lead Jesus to the cross on our behalf
Love was the key that Lead the Father to raise His son from the dead so that we could have a place with Him for all eternity.
Love is the key that allows us to effectively share the word of God and the character of Jesus.
When we reflect the love of God and the character of Jesus effectively it will lead into effective discipleship.
Love opens the door for trust.
Go Forth….
Go Forth….
Love is something that we are to grow in daily… while we are still living on this earth we will NOT stop growing.
once we identify where love is in our hearts then we can start prayerfully developing a plan on how we are going to start discipling others.
Discipleship is NOT always easy but is most definitely worth it.
Discipleship call us to be the example and live out the example we have been given in the person of Jesus.
Discipleship calls us to love others and to SERVE them accordingly.
Will you go forth?
