We looked at this topic last week and saw that, we don’t just listen we do, doers of the word are solid, God is with the doers, we do what the Lord says. Today we are going to continue with some of the benefits that being a doer of the Word brings.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
When We Do God’s Word, We Have Peace We Cannot Understand!
When We Do God’s Word, We Have Peace We Cannot Understand!
This is awesome! Doing what God wants us to do will give us a peace that we cannot understand. It a peace that surpasses everything we can humanly comprehend.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
The More We Do, The More God is With Us!
The More We Do, The More God is With Us!
When we become doers of His word, we not only have His peace, we have the God of peace with us!
10 Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” 11 And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. 12 This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. 13 Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty.
Doers Who Don’t Quit Have Provision!
Doers Who Don’t Quit Have Provision!
God always provides everything that is needed for those who do what He tells us to do in His Word! We cannot out give Him!
1 Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
We Sacrifice Our Own Will To Do His!
We Sacrifice Our Own Will To Do His!
Doers don’t get to do things their way. They do what God wants them to do. This requires sacrifice. But when we to that, sacrifice our own way, our lives become the example of a perfect God to everyone we come in contact with. Our lives prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
