Choosing Your Treasure
Choosing Your Treasure
Treasures on earth are only temporary.
Ecclesiastes 5:15 “As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand.”
Ecclesiastes 5:10 “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.”
Treasures in heaven are eternal.
Proverbs 11:18 “The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.”
See Hebrews 11:24–26...
Look at the desires of your heart to find your treasure.
Luke 6:45 “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Having Healthy Vision
Having Healthy Vision
The things we look at and long for is what fills our heart.
See Proverbs 4:18-27...
Turn your eyes from worthless things and fix your gaze on lasting treasures.
Psalm 119:36–37 “Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.”
Colossians 3:1–2 “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
The danger of darkness
John 3:19 “And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.”
See 1 John 2:15–17...
Choosing Your Master
Choosing Your Master
There is no middle ground in serving the Lord. You are either with Him or against Him.
Luke 11:23 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
Romans 6:16 “Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?”
Choose this day whom you will serve.
Joshua 24:15 “And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.””
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,”
“He is no fool who gives away what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” — Jim Elliot
