We Are At War

Ephesians 6:10–12 (ESV)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
1 Timothy 6:12 (ESV)
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (ESV)
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
2 Timothy 2:3–5 (ESV)
Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

Examples of Battle Cries

Remember the Alamo

During the Mexican American war this was used to remind the soldiers why they were going to war.

There is no land for us beyond the Volga

This is a reminder from soviet troops in WWII. If the Germans got past the Volga river the Soviet Union would fall. The closer the Germans got to the river the harder the Russians fought.

Greek War Hymns

during many of the Greek wars they would sing hymns to help calm the troops.

Praise music does this job
