Matthew 11:25-30 The "Time" that is referred to in verse 25 of Matthew is the time Jesus began to denounce the unrepentant cities of Korazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. In these cities, he did many of his miracles but they remained unrepentant. Jesus praised His Father for hiding knowledge of the Father from the wise and learned and revealing it to those whom the Son chooses, humble and teachable people. Since all things have been committed to Jesus he makes a plea to all who are weary and burdened to come to Him. "Come to me" means to believe and to accept the gift of eternal life. "I will give you rest" means the rest of salvation. "Take my yoke" means to turn over control of one's life to Jesus and learn from Him. "For his yoke is easy and his burden is light"--Walking in the path of Christ does not mean we will not have trials and test but it does mean that we are yoked to Him and we do not have to bear them alone.
