What do we really have assurence of in our life?
Assurence means that your sure…
Sun rises in the east sets in the west
your favorite food is lasagna
I have assurence that I love my wife and son
Q. But do they have assurence that I Love them?
--Assurence has everything to do with faith
I whole heartedly trust that My family loves me
because of this faith---- in their Love
I have assurence that they will act according to love
Q. Do you have assurence that God Loves you —YES
Why?
Because He sent His son to die for you.
let me put this in perspective......
Q. Do you think that Mrs Jessica and I Love you guys
of course,,,,,, we teach you sundays and thursdays
and do events and trips.
NOW
Q. Do you think we would ever ask Bradley to go and die to save you?
Thats what God did for you.
He sent His son into the world to die for you
because your sin needed to be punished
and His son took your punishment on His shoulders at the cross
Q. Again, Do you have assurence that He loves you?

I believe He loves me
but am I saved ?
Q. Do you have assurence you will be saved ?
We can Have assurence of salvation
Because of verse 13
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
The only assurence you should have
of your salvation
is because you
have trusted in HIM
In Him is Jesus
---popular saying he is him----- blasphemous, taken from scripture
there is only one Him
paul is speaking to the church in Ephesus
IN Him You HAVE TRUSTED
Q. When did they trust
---- After they heard the word of truth
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
you must hear and understand the word of truth
you hear this and when you believe it ---- this is faith
Now what is the word of truth .....
this truth that produces faith unto salvation?
its the Gospel of your salvation…
the good news of your salvation
verse 13 states that the christians in Ephesus
have trusted in Christ
after hearing the word and understanding the good news of Jesus
Assurence comes from hearing and believing the word

At one point we have all come to the time in our lives where we heard
the good news
maybe it was a preacher on a sunday morning
or maybe it was a friend or family member
for me it was an old annoying lady that worked at my moms shop..
story
she just kept telling me
come to Jesus , and He will clean up your life…
all you have to do is ask Him
and of course I wanted to get my life in order
but she shared the good news that God could save me
I heard it
and I came to that point where I finally asked God to save me
After I heard of the good news of Jesus
God heard my prayer for help
the next day I was given bible by a stranger who then preached to me the
more intricate details of the gospel
We opened the word together, I heard it, and I believed it
I urge you to open the word
explore the word as a treasure hunter would explore the map to El dorodo
and upon reading it
believe it
and let it give you assurence in the person that the word is all about
Jesus ....
knowing the word will help you trust Him with Assurence… that certainty,...
The verse continues on
in whom also having believed
you were sealed with the holy spirit of promise
We see that when one believes on the Lord Jesus
He or she is sealed with the Holy Spirit.
when You are sealed with the holy spirit,
you can have assurence of salvation because
you have been marked and approved by the Holy Spirit

This is what marks you as a christian
by faith .... when you believed in Christ…
you were sealed with the holy spirit of promise
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Jesus ascended into heaven
and sent down the Holy Spirit
to dwell in all who believe
When you believe you are marked and sealed with holy spirit
this is a reference to a seal that was a wax marking
that would be put on a letter to close it.
it marked the letter as aprooved by the king
so that when someone recieved it they knew
the letter that was marked signified
1. belonged to the king ---- you belong to God
2. it had the authority of the king ---- you walk in the authority of Christ
3. it showed the approval of the king that it was authentic
the mark of the holy spirit
signifies that you have been marked by God, you belong to God, and you are approved by God
this is all accessible through faith in His son
so when you believe the Holy Spirit is stamped on your soul
and lives inside of you
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
q. does the holy spirit dwell in you?
He is your seal of approval and power
He is the one who teaches you
helps you
and leads you in the christian life.
When you know He is with you you can have assurence
because of verse 14,, in speaking of the holy spirit
who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
The holy spirit is the guarantee of your salvation
guarantee— means the down payment
If I put a down payment on my house that means
I am invested 100 percent in the purchase
The guarantee means there is not a shadow of a doubt
therefore you can have assurence of your salvation
be confident in your salvation
be confident in your salvation
no only be confident if you have believed in Jesus in a way that leads to repentance
believing He exists is not enough
think about it like this
story of samantha and the gator
she believes there are gators in florida
I believe there are gators in florida
what is the difference
my belief leads to action
When you believe in Christ for the forgivness of your sin
and you turn your life over to God
you get the down payment of the Holy Spirit
and this down payment guarantees your salvation....
and one day you will die and be fully redeemed.
you will be ressurected to eternity with Jesus
all to the praise of His Glory
but until then
you have the down payment
The Holy Spirit
Now I want you to think…
Do you have the holy spirit in your life ...
Have you been marked by Faith in Jesus
not by good works, not by church attendance, or family ties
but by faith in Christ?
Faith in Him Marks you as a christian
in the same way the blood of the lamb on the doorpost marked the israelites in egypt
is the same way the Blood of Jesus marks us as Christians
by faith in His work on the cross we are given the Holy Spirit
And this gurantees our salvation
Some of you need to know that you have already been bought....
there is no take backs…
I want those who believe the gospel
to know without a shadow of a doubt you are saved,
and those who do not believe the gospel
you are not saved .... If thats you come and talk to me after church ....
q. Have you ever heard once saved always saved?
I think there is a more accurate way of saying that
If saved always saved.
Have you put your faith in Christ
Have you trusted in Him for your salvation
Do you know Him
If you have trusted Him you will continue to trust Him
until the day of your redemption,,,, the day of your ressurection.
you will persevere…
You will not loose your salvation …
You can have assurence of Gods love and saving work in your life..
Now believe it
Do not be afraid
He is yours and you are his by promise…
Nothing can keep you from His love.
if you are saved
you can have assurence of Gods love
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
