In order to complete a project you need to be equipped with the right tools. Sometimes you start a project but as you continue to work on the project you keep remembering another tool that you forgot to get. So then you need to grab one thing, then another thing, then another thing…To start a project the right way you want to make sure you have everything you need in order to do your project. Pressing Pause helps us to press play

Learning to press play

We talked about Jesus talking to His heavenly Father. Jesus knew how to press pause.
-What John 17 tells us is that Jesus knew that this time with His Father allowed Him to complete the task He had been given by His Father.
Jesus knew that His goal was for all to know that the Father had sent Him for salvation. Jesus says that He had “completed the work you gave me to do”.
So what does Jesus tell us that our goal is?

Pressing Pause builds our unity with one another

Jesus knew that the rest that He enjoyed with His Father was needed for those who call themselves believers. That when we meet together it is so that we may rest from the business of the world.

Pressing Pause helps the world to see God’s goodness

The world needs rest, people are exhausted. We have talked about that this week. Your friends are exhausted. All the stats tell us that your friends are struggling with mental health, they can’t focus on school, they are having trouble with relationships.
They need to know there is a place to find rest.

Pressing Pause reminds us of the time where we will have complete rest

Jesus wants us to enter His rest with Him
