Kids vs. Parents
Kids vs. Parents
Ephesians 6:1–3 (NIV)
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
What a win for us parents! God said it. Let's pray! I'm only kidding, let me talk to the parents first. Parents we are responsible to raise our kids in the Lord and to instruct them clearly so that they are able to understand. we need to bring our kids closer to God. Our patience is key factor in our children doing their job.
So kids, what is your job?
God vs. the World
God vs. the World
Your job in life is not to get good grades. Your job is not to hit challenger in League. It's not to have fun or eat your veggies. Your job is to get to know God.
Who are you going to listen to? Normally your first trusting/loving relationship is with your parents. But as time goes on you accumulate more and more relationships - siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, teachers, pastors - and as the number of people you trust increases so do the opinions.
Even my daughter who's 3 years old experiences this. She remembers me telling her to be a good girl at school, her teacher is telling her to wait, her friends tell her to join them on the playground. What should she do? Who should she listen to?
Let me tell I want her to listen to me! If our kids would just listen and obey us the world would be such a better place amen parents? But really we know that the one my daughter, and all of us, should be listening to is God.

What does God say? Childen, obey your parents in the Lord. Children, so that means toddlers, kindergarteners, Plg, Pug, jr. High, sr. High… college students. Obeying your parents is the morally right thing, and the Christian thing to do, but it's also what Jesus wants us to do.
But kids its a win for you too because honoring your parents comes with a promise. Verse 3 says so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life.”
A respect towards your parents authority leads to a better and longer life according to Scripture. If you need even more incentive

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.
Jesus obeyed his earthly parents despite being one with God To serve as an example.
