Now Peter and John were going up to the temple for the time of prayer at three in the afternoon.
the seeking of prayer
could you imagine going out of your way to have prayer time?
Way was this important to Peter and John?
No doubt they had saw Jesus do the same thing.
A man who was lame from birth was being carried there. He was placed each day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from those entering the temple.
lame and needed to be carried there.
do you think this man had to swallow his pride everyday.
Beautiful gate 75” high made of brass more beautiful than gate covered in silver and gold.
Why is man at this gate so he could beg.
Put yourself in this man’s position.
When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked for money. Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said, “Look at us.” So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them.
They looked straight at him
“Look at us”
Expecting to get something
He thinks he is about to get some money.
Was he asking for what he really needed?
Did the LORD know what he needed?
But Peter said, “I don’t have silver or gold, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
“I don’t have silver or gold” WHAT!!! than why are you talking to me.
BUT!!! What I do have, I give you.
Get up and Walk!
What gift did they give the man?
what do you think that man thought about Jesus after this?
Peter had to have Jesus first then he was able to give HIM to this man.
Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong. So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. All the people saw him walking and praising God, and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him.
Peter had incredible faith in Jesus.
Feet, Ankles and jumped up are all medical terms everything popped into place.
What happened when he went into church?
Walking, leaping, and praising God.
Could you imagine if that happed this morning someone bust in walking and leaping praising GOD!
Sir we don’t do that here.
Now imagine you have know them for years and they could not walk.
That is what is happening they recognized this man from the gate.
They saw the power of the LORD at church! WOW!
What was their response to this? AWE!
While he was holding on to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astonished, ran toward them in what is called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Fellow Israelites, why are you amazed at this? Why do you stare at us, as though we had made him walk by our own power or godliness?
he was holding on to Peter and John he is probably hugging them wouldn’t you!

Why are you amazed at this?
It wasn’t use this is all Jesus THAT is who can heal.
Why do they point back to JESUS.
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.”
No one else can save you from your sin but Jesus.
