So today I just wanna give you a little reminder that as Christians we do not have to live by this world.

Colossians 3:1–4 “So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
So now when it says that we have been raised with Christ what does that mean? Obviously it does not me we are physically being raised with Christ. This is referring to the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ it is saying that if you have been saved and put your Trust in Him and accepted Jesus as your Savior then all of the following things apply to you. Paul is talking to the believers at this point in Colossians. He means that because of our identification with Jesus we have been granted new life which gives us the capacity to live a new kind of life which Paul will go over in the next couple of verses.
Read V2 So since we have been raised with Christ we are now called to seek the things above where Christ is Seated Right we are not supposed to focus on the earthly things and I know that can be difficult to not focus on those things that is how our minds are hard wired we are hardwired to focus on the earthly things but we are called to not do that we are called as believers to focus on Heavenly things.
Read V3 But if you read to V3 it tells us we are not longer bound to this world we have died and our old body the body who was a slave to this world is not a slave to the world any longer with Christ we have the power and ability to overcome the things of this world the same power that raise Jesus from the dead and raised Lazarus and healed the blind man and walked on water that power is living in us as Christians we have the ability to over come those sins that we feel like we cannot overcome we are enslaved to those sins I have Good news if you are saved then those sins have no power over you cast those sins and your problems onto God and he will overcome those sins you have
so as i bring this to a close I just wanna say as encouragement as you go threw the day that going from class to class you will have times when sin wants to take over and it is difficult to say not and if your trying to do it on your own then it is impossible but if you Cast it to God then it becomes Possible so when those situations come up just take a second and pray for God to Help you threw it and just know as a child of God those sins do not have power over you any more
Let me pray and then I’ll hand it over to Rylie or Mr. Phillips
