Paul Is till working through some things the church has asked about.
He has covered being single verses married in the context of avoiding sexual immorality.
He also covered divorce - God’s intention of lifelong marriage and he even talked about what to do when someone comes to Christ but their spouse didn’t - You never know what your testimony will do.
This week Paul addresses something more general…
1 Corinthians 7:17–24 (CSB)
17 Let each one live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches. 18 Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised. 19 Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God’s commands is what matters. 20 Let each of you remain in the situation in which he was called. 21 Were you called while a slave? Don’t let it concern you. But if you can become free, by all means take the opportunity. 22 For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ’s slave. 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of people. 24 Brothers and sisters, each person is to remain with God in the situation in which he was called.

God has you right where you are supposed to be.

The situation/function/responsibility/place the Lord ASSIGNED or called you to.
God knew exactly where you would be, what your life would be like when He called you to repentance.

We should be content in the situation we are in.

Paul starts with nationality - Jew verses Gentile.
For us we can take circumcised to be saved and uncircumcised as lost.
He also talks about slave and free - if a slave don’t worry about your freedom, if it comes take it but if not be the best slave you can be.

Become a slave of Jesus and follow His commands.

We are to live for Jesus no matter what situation we are in.
