What is commitment?

The definition of commitment refers to a firm dedication or pledge to a cause, activity, person, or obligation. It implies a sense of responsibility, determination, and perseverance in fulfilling an agreement or promise, often despite challenges or difficulties. Commitment is characterized by the willingness to maintain effort and stay consistent over time to achieve a particular goal or uphold a duty.
In relationships or responsibilities, commitment means being faithful and reliable in carrying out one's duties or staying loyal to a promise made.
Commitment speaks about personal dedication or faithfulness.

God’s commitment

Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV
“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Commitment with God

Matthew 10:37–38 NKJV
He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Commitment in ministry or the workplace
