THE INTERCESSOR'S HEART

WK1- INTRODUCTION

Isaiah 53:6 (NKJV)

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Intercessors will carry spiritual burdens from the heart of the Father.

Matthew 11:28–30 (NKJV)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

We are not meant to carry the burdens from this world. But we do carry burdens from the Lord.

Example:

What is taking place is you are abiding in the Father’s heart. You are no longer praying from your own spirit. Holy Spirit is interceding through us as we act as a surrendered vessel.

WK2- HOW TO DISCERN IT

Romans 8:26–28 (NKJV)

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

How to discern when the Lord is placing a burden on you for intercession:

Someone or something is suddenly placed on your heart, and you can’t shake it.

You suddenly feel an urgency to pray.

You feel God’s emotions over this burden (grief, compassion, love etc).

You feel can’t leave the prayer closet until you see it through.

You might wonder why no one else seem’s to care about this burden except you.

This burden may last minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years.

WK3- BIRTHING IT

Romans 8:26 (NKJV)

but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Intercession is the labour pains (contractions) that give birth to breakthrough.

DIMENSIONS OF INTERCESSION

CONCEPTION STAGE The burden is concieved in your spirit.

RESPONSE

Luke 1:38 (NKJV)

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

3. FEED THE BURDEN The growing fetus needs to be fed. We feed the burden with the word of God. Plot with scripture, your sword in intercession.

4. PUSH THROUGH

Groanings which cannot be uttered, goes beyond your own prayer. Groaning is a greater level of intensity. Jesus and Abraham. Groaning is the last stage before you give birth. Many drop out at this stage and they do not persist.

5. GIVING BIRTH

Press through until you feel a release in your spirit and the burden has lifted.
