Mark 9:14–29 (ESV)
14 And when they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them. 15 And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed and ran up to him and greeted him. 16 And he asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?”
17 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. 18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”
19 And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. 21 And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
25 And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” 26 And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
28 And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.”
Grace Points:
Arguing with one another does not lead to solutions.
Philippians 2:14–15 (ESV)
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
2 Timothy 2:23 (ESV)
23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
Solutions come when we decide work together to find a solutions
We have To move from If God can… I Believe God can
Mark 11:24 (ESV)
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
How To Help out unbelief
Romans 10:17 (ESV)
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
All things are possible for one who believes
not all things are done.... just because you want it and know God can do it doesn't ment God wants it in your life.
Sometimes We say we believe before our self sees it.... God I believe, and where i struggle to believe, Help me believe.
Many Problems can ONLY be solved in prayer. SO PRAY.
We can try, we can fight, we can push, we can pull but some problems can not be fixed outside of God moving, and in those time, We are called to Stop and Pray.
Romans 12:12 (ESV)
12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
John 16:33 (ESV)
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Romans 8:26 (ESV)
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
We need to pray
there nothing wrong with asking for prayer, DO it
There is nothing wrong praying at church, Do it.
BUT You must set time aside to pray about it. God will listen to you just as much as anyone else. GO TO HIM.
Build a praying Army around, but make sure you are joining in.
