Hello everyone, this is Kenneth Padgett, welcome to The Story of God Podcast.
Today we have our second bonus episode for Season One…Part 2 of a great conversation with Tim Mackie from Bible Project.
In part one of this conversation we began to work through the story of the Bible and think about God’s presence with his people. Any time you are tracing a theme through the Scriptures you’ll need to begin at the beginning, I know, mind blowing, but my point is to say that Genesis 1-11 is absolutely vital for anyone seeking to comprehend the story and theology of the Bible. In this episode we move from the call of Abraham in Genesis 12 to the New Heavens and new earth in Revelation 21-22.
If you’re not familiar with this Podcast, and you’re here because someone shared it with you, or you saw Tim’s name, let me encourage you to go back an listen to Season One. It follows the flow of a family picture-book that I co-wrote with my friend Shay Gregorie, called The Story of God with Us. Like the book, this podcast is designed to help increase biblical literacy and cultivate a love for the Author of the greatest story ever told.
Now, one more note, I want to let you know that if you use the code BIBLEPROJECT at wolfbanebooks.com (link in the show notes) you can get an extra 20% off of of the Story of God trilogy through the rest of this year (2024). It’s already discounted for the holidays, so this code makes it even more affordable! So head over to wolfbanebooks.com to grab the set for your family, friends, or church.
Ok, on to part one of the conversation with Tim Mackie!
OUTRO
Ok, wow, a little bit of a cliffhanger there. Tim is such a great thinker and communicator. As I mentioned in the intro, he just has a way of unpacking the Bible that makes it less intimidating – it is possible for anyone to go deeper in the story and fall more in love with it. I love that about Tim. Anyway, In the next episode, we’ll pick up where we left off and trace this theme through the rest of the Bible. We’ll also talk about what it means for us now, and I even ask him what family Bible time looks like in the Mackie home. It’s great stuff!
Just a reminder to go back and listen to Season One of this podcast, and head over to wolfbanebooks.com and use the code BIBLEPROJECT to get 20% off for the rest of 2024. These books will be a blessing to any family you know!
Ok, I’m excited for Part Two with Tim Mackie, and I hope you are too. God’s peace be with you.
