MGP Chapel October 23, 2024: The Shepherd Finds His Sheep

Puppet Show:

Theo:

Luvie, Luvie?

Michael:

What’s wrong, Theo?

Theo:

I’m looking for Luvie.

I want to hear more about her day at Lamb’s Meadow.

Have you seen her, boys and girls?

Michael:

Not this morning, Theo.

Theo:

Hmm...

I’m going to go look for her in the petting zoo again.

*Theo puppet exits, calling out for Luvie

Luvie:

Here I am!

Was someone calling me?

Michael:

Oh, there you are, Luvie!

Theo has been looking all over for you.

He thought you were lost!

Luvie:

Well, as a matter of fact, I was lost, but then I was found!

Michael:

Really, Luvie?

What happened?

Luvie:

Well, yesterday I went with the other sheep to Lamb’s Meadow.

We ate lots of grass and played fun games.

Then I took a long nap.

When I woke up, I noticed a beautiful flower.

Michael:

Like this one?

Show a flower

Luvie:

Yep; just like that one!

I stopped to smell that flower, and then the next flower and the next flower.

There were so many beautiful flowers, and each one smelled so pretty.

But soon I looked up, and I realized that I was far, far away from Lamb’s Meadow.

Michael:

Oh, no! Were you scared?

Luvie:

I was really scared.

I looked one way, and then the other way.

I couldn’t see any one!

I began to cry.

Michael:

What happened next, Luvie?

Luvie:

I went to the apple orchard and began to cry, “Baaa, baa!!”

Soon enough, I heard Katie the Collie dog barking, and she came, found me, and took me back home

I am so glad that Katie came and found me.

I was alone and scared.

Michael:

I am glad too.

Did you learn a lesson yesterday, Luvie?

Luvie:

I sure did.

I should have obeyed Timothy’s dad and not wandered off from the rest of the sheep.

And I’m sure glad that Katie Collie is such a smart sheepdog.

Michael:

Me too, Luvie!

Theo:

There you are!

I’ve been looking everywhere for you.

I want to hear all about your day at sheep’s meadow.

Luvie:

Well, I just told them, so how about we go back to the farm and I’ll tell you all about it?

Theo:

That sounds great!

Michael:

Boys and girls, let’s say goodbye to Theo and Luvie!
