I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone for making it out here today to celebrate the coming together of Jermaine and Trina.
I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone for making it out here today to celebrate the coming together of Jermaine and Trina.
We have been blessed to be a witness to the growing and maturing of these two people as this relationship has progress to this ultimate conclusion.
I would like to dedicate this time to those who could not be here today. To the sister we have loss and to the Grandmother and God parents you have loss. We are going to have a moment of silence and prayer.
There are some truths I want to share with you from Scripture. It deals with your responsibilities to each other but more than that the great gift of God to us in salvation.
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject
unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even
as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and
cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy
and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth
his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as
the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man
leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be
one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as
himself; and the wife see that she reverence her
husband.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
We as Husbands need to love with my wife according to the word of God. We are to take care of her. To protected her. Even if the husband was not following the word. Through her example the husband could come to know the Lord. This passage mention Sarah and Abraham. And how Sarah trusted God. I think of all the mess Abraham put her through. He dis obeyed God by disowning his wife and claiming her as his sister. Only to have her obey and given to another man. But even if Abraham disobeyed God Sarah still acted as a holy woman and obeyed her husband. and God rewarded her for that and kept her safe.
Before we do the vows I ask each of you to make a decision. God has spoken about how He wants a marriage to be operated.
Will you promise to make these words a guide to your marriage together?
I now ask all of you listening. You have heard how Jesus came to love, to give His life, to clean us up from all of our messes.
Will you response to His offer of the free gift of salvation?
Unity Candle:
The Unity candle symbolizes the joining of their families, the merging of two individuals, the creation of a blended family, etc.
Officiant speaks: At this time we will have the lighting of the Unity candle. I want to ask representatives of both families to light one of the candles. Please come forward.
Before (Spouse 1) and (Spouse 2) come forward to light their wedding candle, allow me to explain the symbolism behind these candles.
The two outside candles have been lit to symbolize the two families from which these individuals have come.
The couple will light the center candle from the other two. The three candles will remain lit.
One candle for each of them, and one candle for the unity of their new family, and as a symbol of their commitment to each other and to a lasting and loving marriage.
(Spouse 1) and (Spouse 2), please light your candle
Words about marriage
• The two of you together for the rest of your life
•Jermaine love your wife, remember that it is all about being
a giver
•Trina love and submit to your husband. He can only
be a great spiritual leader if you will be a great spiritual
follower
• Seek God first and the rest of everything will take care of
itself
Rings
These rings are a circle, a symbol of the never ending love that you have promised to each other. Let me remind you both
that the love only endures as you grow together in Christ’s
love and seek to honor and serve Him. Jermaine take this ring and place it on Trina’s finger and repeat after me
Trina, I give you this ring to wear as a sign of my
promise to love and grow with you and with it I give you all that I am and all that I have. I honor you today before God and these witnesses.
Jermaine, I give you this ring to wear as a sign of my promise
to love and grow with you and with it I give you all that I am and all that I have. I honor you today before God and these witnesses.
Now as you both have declared
that you love each other and have faith in each other and have now given your vows to be husband and wife by the giving of your hands and rings. I by the authority and privilege that God has given me as a gospel minister do declare you husband and wife in the presence of God and these witnesses. I sincerely
desire that God will make you both very happy
You may now kiss your bride
I privileged to be the first to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs.
