TITLE: Gospel 101: 7 Fruits of Salvation
INTRO: Fruit – "A fruit is the natural outcome consistent with the purpose and nature of an object."
PREACHING POINT:
TRANSITION:
POINT 1: An Unmistakable Love for God
PROVE: Matthew 22:37–38 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment.
APPLY: The other day, I heard that the opposite of Love is not hate; it’s selfishness.
· Are you selfish with your time, money, and desires when it comes to spending those things on God
TRANSITION:
POINT 2: An Insatiable Love for God’s Word
PROVE: Jeremiah 15:16 16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.
1 John 2:3 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

POINT 3: A Growing Love for God’s People
PROVE: 1 John 3:13–14 13 Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.
John 13:35 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

POINT 4: A Progressive Curb in Sinful Practices
PROVE: 1 John 3:9–10 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

POINT 5: A Life Committed to Good Works
PROVE: Titus 3:8 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

POINT 6: A Diminishing Love for the World
PROVE: 1 John 2:15–17 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

POINT 7: An Increasing Desire for God’s Kingdom
PROVE: Col. 3:1–2 1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
