We love having God get His blessings to us. His power, knowledge, provision, health, family, the list goes on and on. But what gets God excited is when what He gives us goes through us to others. It’s powerful when things of God go through us. Ephesians 1:3–14 (MEV)
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before Him in love;
5He predestined us to adoption as sons to Himself through Jesus Christ according to the good pleasure of His will,
6to the praise of the glory of His grace which He graciously bestowed on us in the Beloved.
7In Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace,
8which He lavished on us in all wisdom and insight,
9making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself,
10as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, which are in heaven and on earth.
11In Him also we have received an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His own will,
12that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, should live for the praise of His glory.
13In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
This is what has been given to us.
Spiritual Blessings
Adoption as sons and daughters
Redemption
An Inheritance
sealed with the promise Holy Spirit
He has raised us up.
3 His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and excellence,
He has also given us all things that pertain to life and godliness
These are all good things. This is all given to us. But there’s something much better. That is the power of through us.
14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.
God Uses Us as His Instruments!
God Uses Us as His Instruments!
We are His Instruments to diffuse His knowledge to all those around us
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
God Working Through Us Makes Us His Ambassadors!
God Working Through Us Makes Us His Ambassadors!
N.T. Wright , English New Testament Scholar said, “Salvation is not simply God’s gift to people; it is God’s gift through people to the wider world.” The word Ambassador means, an authorized representative or messenger. Him working through us makes us His official representative in this world!
8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say,
“They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.
God Provides for Others Through Us!
God Provides for Others Through Us!
This the blessing of having God work through us. Provision for all people around us.
