The Definition of Prayer

Petition: a formal written request, typically one signed by many people, appealing to authority with respect to a particular cause. Acts 12, Peter in prison
Supplication: the action of asking or begging for something earnestly, or humbly. Philippians 4:6
Intercession: the action of intervening on behalf of another. Job 42:8
Request: an act of asking politely or formally for something.
Prayer is an act of communicating thoughts, wants, needs, desires, and requests to our God. Prayer requires an act of humility and reliance towards our almighty God. Prayer also is an act of turning things over to God by giving Him the due power, authority, and respect he deserves and demands.
