I. HE WHOM THOU LOVEST IS SICK

I can imagine that an angel brings this news to the Lord Jesus Christ as He sits on His thrown next to His Father.

Although Jesus and God the Father already knew these facts

God is Omniscient (All Knowing)

II. THIS SICKNESS IS NOT UNTO DEATH - BUT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

I can’t help but imagine that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord’s, the very Prince of Peace reminices over the life of Obed Perez.

His Birth

His Salvation

The day that He filled him with his Holy Spirit

The day that He called him into Service for Him

Each and every work for Him

His dedication to the Men of God that he served

His leadership qualities that He had inspired in him

Our Savior remembered it all

God is not forgetful of our Labor of Love for Him

III. BELIEVEST THOU THIS?

Believe in me - dead - yet shall live

Liveth - Believeth - Shall never die

Do you believe this?

When I look at this corps - I don’t see a dead soul - I see only a shell that housed the soul and spirit of our departed Brother.

You see tonight Obed Perez is more alive than you and I.
