Being good stewards of what God has given us
Be ready because just as Christ suffered, because we follow, we will suffer as well
Take heart because we suffer for righteousness, growing tired of receiving the punishment for giving into the flesh and doing what the gentiles do in drunkenness, orgies, and drinking parties we will also share in Christ reward
As we have received grace, so we must also give grace to those who God places in our life's path, for love covers a multitude of sin

Peter lifts up the Elders of the church and identifies himself as one of them
