Today we are in our 12th sermon in our series called a Prophet and 2 Kings. (To catch up you can go on our Website, download our app Rock Creek GA, YouTube, Podcast)
Today we are continuing in follow the life of David and Saul.
And as we covered last week,
Saul’s jealousy has led him to try and kill David.
I said last week that insecurity is like gasoline to the fire of jealousy,
and
because Saul did not deal with his insecurity he began to be tremendously jealous of David.
As we know that jealousy is a deadly disease to relationships.
Thus, Saul went from loving David to pursing David in order to kill him.
In chapters 18, 19, & 20 we see that Saul is not only jealous of David
but is greatly afraid of David.
1 Samuel 18:12 ESV
12 Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with him but had departed from Saul.
Saul covets David’s life because…
