God has made us His citizens
Philippians 3:20 (ESV)
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
and Called us to be an ambassador
YOU are an ambassador of Jesus
2 Corinthians 5:17–20 (NIV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Cor 5:17, we talked about last week - God is a God who restores, He makes all things new.
This is the gospel - the good news of our salvation.
What is salvation? What does it mean to be saved and what are the implications of that
Why? For what purpose does God bring about restoration?
That we might be united to God

The other day i ordered a new shirt and i was so excited i kept checking the UPS status update to see when it would arrive.
How many of you have done that before?
When we know something good is coming, we become eager and expectant of it.
For those of you who have put your faith in Jesus, we should likewise be excited and expectant about the arrival of Jesus, about the arrival of His Kingdom.
But WHEN will it come?
Luke 17:20–21 (NIV)
20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
It is not a question of WHEN but of WHERE?
IT IS HERE
I have good news friends, The Kingdom is HERE!
We need not put our faith in politics, or this world, because the Kingdom is HERE!

Right now our country has competing kingdoms at play. But the kingdoms that are competing are not just red and blue.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Tomorrow is halloween. It is a holiday that is associated with the Kingdom of Satan - it’s a holiday that celbrates fear and darkness.

Where is God’s Kingdom?

How is it here and yet I dont know it’s location?
it’s not like United Kingdom or Magic Kingdom

Why? Because, the Kingdom is meant to be expressed through my life!
Jesus’ Kingship and authority is meant to be evident in how we interact with the world
we are to represent
His language
His values
His authority
His message
Jesus’s words make this clear
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Jesus’s prayer for us
15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
Jesus teaches us to pray
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“ ‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

Any of you ever seen a newborn? Can we be real? they look like little aliens. I believe it’s God’s reminder to us - we are not from here. lol
What is salvation?
Saved: past tense: saved; past participle: saved
keep safe or rescue (someone or something) from harm or danger.
- Oxford Dictionary
To be in need of saving implies you are in need of help, in need of rescue, in need of healing.
When did you get saved?
Last week? Years ago?
When do we experience restoration in full?
4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
We have a future hope
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
At the moment of salvation? Or the moment we’re fully reunited with Jesus?
What are we saved from?
Even when we were dead because of our sins, He made us alive by what Christ did for us. You have been saved from the punishment of sin by His loving-favor. 6 God raised us up from death when He raised up Christ Jesus. He has given us a place with Christ in the heavens.
NLV Eph 2:5-6.
Romans 6:23 “23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
What are we saved to?

What were we saved for?
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Who is salvation for?

For someone sitting here saying, I want to be apart of something that grand, but I’m nervous. God couldn’t use me? What would you say to encourage people to bring God’s Kingdom here to UofM/MSP?
