When I think about Margie Shaw I see a woman who…
Loved people
Talk to everyone and would know all about everybody.
Always asking questions and getting to know people.
Didn’t mind one bit when New 6 did a story on Handy’s and the next thing you know Margie’s meeting people and signing autographs!
Talk to strangers on the side of the road.
Loved working at Osage Federal. Worked there for 28 years and greeting people and talking to people.

Psalm 23 ESV
A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

1 The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

Gave her life to Jesus and He became her shepherd around the age of 10 years old.
Baptized 74 years ago on April 16, 1950 when Rev. Albert Kondy pastored Pawhuska FBC.
Under the Lordship of Jesus, Margie’s kindness to everyone and her tenacity to never give up on anyone represented her Savior well.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters.

Lord has always provided for and taken care of Margie.
Even when Philip died and Margie didn’t want to spend nights alone in her house, the Lord peacefully provided for her through different family members every night ever since.

3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

A woman rarely put out by anyone.
Never had any bitterness towards anybody. (Not a bitter bone in her body - Valarie)
Walked in paths of righteousness and honored the Lord in her life.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me..

Never scared or worried about anything. What I recall hearing Margie say the most was, “I ain’t scared. The Lord’s gonna take care of me”.
1 Peter 5:7 “7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
When the world shut down for COVID, Margie thought that was silly. She wasn’t scared. The Lord was gonna take care of her.
Even as nervous as she was in the hospital, she would always acknowledge the Lord was with her.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Don’t know if Margie had any enemies…
The closest may have been the guy who fell through the ceiling at Handy’s one morning as Margie was getting the coffee going.
She was certainly anointed when she sent the guy running with her finger waging and shouting, “You get out of here.”

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

The goodness and mercy of Jesus has certainly followed her all of her life.
She is certainly dwelling in the house of the Lord for all eternity.
As we celebrate the life of Margie Shaw today, we do so knowing that her life is not over…she has just relocated from this broken, temporary world to the perfect, holy presence of her Lord and Savior.
I don’t know where you are in your life today, but I do know that Jesus would love to give you new and eternal life in Him.
The Bible tells us in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
ONE Great God - who has made us on purpose and for purpose. He has made this world we live in and He has made us to live in fellowship and relationship with Him…BUT
ONE Great Problem - We have sinned. We have fallen short of God’s glory and in self-centeredness have decided to do life our own way instead of God’s way. Because God is perfect and holy and we have rejected Him, we are in danger of living separately apart from Him, not only in this life, but for all eternity.
ONE Great Hope - Even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. There is only one place of hope, salvation, restoration, and redemption into New Life that is embracing Jesus as Savior and Lord and following Him in fellowship and relationship. Embracing Jesus and declaring “The Lord is my Shepherd…He leads me”
ONE Great Decision - Will you embrace Jesus as your Lord and Savior and let Him define your life with New Life in Him, like Margie has, or will you deny Jesus and live your own way apart from Him now and for eternity?
As you think upon this decision, if you have the desire to begin New Life in Jesus and follow Him, Bro. Mark and I will be in the hallway as you walk by. As you shake hands with either of us tell either of us, “I need Jesus”… We will be glad to visit with you and help you in praying to Him and starting your New Life in Him.
