Comfort Through the Word

PSALM 119:1-8 COMMITMENT TO GOD’S WORD DILIGENTLY PURSUE GOD’S WORD TO HAVE A VIBRANT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. PSALM 119:9-16 VALUE GOD’S WORD. MY PASSION FOR GOD’S WORD WILL LEAD ME TO RIGHTEOUS LIFE CHOICES. PSALM 119:17-24 DIRECTED BY GOD’S WORD! GOD’S WORD MUST BE MY SOURCE OF DIRECTION FOR LIFE CHOICES TODAY. PSALM 119:25-33 ENCOURAGED BY GOD’S WORD BE ENCOURAGED TO LIVE CONFIDENTLY IN GOD THROUGH GOD’S TRUTH. PSALM 119:33-40 TRANSFORMED BY GOD’S WORD ALLOW GOD TO SHAPE YOUR INNER MAN THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. PSALM 119:41-48 LIVE BOLDLY BY THE WORD LIVE BOLDLY FOR GOD WHILE RESTING IN HIS LOVE AND TRUTH! Comfort Through The Word PSALM 119:49-56 COMFORT THROUGH THE WORD 1. God’s work in my life is accomplished through the Word. 49-51 2. The inner man is comforted through Scripture. 52-54 3. Start the comfort cycle 55-56 START THE COMFORT CYCLE 55-56 A. Remind: Set your mind on truth in hard times. 55a B. Obey: Obey truth in hard times. 55b C. Rest: God brings comfort to your heart. 56a D. Comfort comes as a result of your obedience to God’s truth. 56b GOD COMFORTS OUR HEART WITH HOPE AND COURAGE THROUGH THE WORD IN THE HARD TIMES OF LIFE. APPLICATION 1. It is profitable to recognize that life is at times hard. 2. Remember, most of the battle in this temporary life is primarily about the inner man battle. It is about what is going on in my heart in the midst of the hard. APPLICATION 3. Recognize that comfort originates with God and comes as a result of my choices to dwell on truth. Both God and myself have a part in my encouragement. 4. Purposefully dwell on the Word in hard times. 5. Failure to dwell on the Word in times of discouragement will only bring more discouragement and wrong thinking. BE COMFORTED THROUGH THE WORD!
