Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan- no one wants to claim it. J.F.K
Only those who become successful like to speak about their failures- and only those who can experience a Reverential
Rejoicing of knowing Christ can truly understand the level of rebellion the world expresses towards Him.
But because they will not succeed in overthrowing God or his Kingdom, they will never own their failures.

Acts 13:33 “33 God has fulfilled this for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm: You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”

RAGE – RIIDICULE - REVERANCE

1. RAGE

V1-3
a. Why do the nations rage?

1 Why do the nations rage

and the peoples plot in vain?

Revelation 11:18 “18 The nations were angry, but your wrath has come. The time has come for the dead to be judged and to give the reward to your servants the prophets, to the saints, and to those who fear your name, both small and great, and the time has come to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

2 The kings of the earth take their stand,

and the rulers conspire together

against the LORD and his Anointed One:,

Acts 4:25–26 “25 You said through the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David your servant: Why do the Gentiles rage and the peoples plot futile things? 26 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers assemble together against the Lord and against his Messiah.”
God is in control of the nations of the world, and He can do with them what He pleases.
Warren W. Wiersbe
(v2) Conspire - make secret plans jointly to commit an unlawful or harmful act.’
2   The world is a sort of macrocosm of which man is a microcosm, and what is true of the nations of the world is true of individuals.

3 “Let’s tear off their chains

and throw their ropes off of us.”

(v3) – The people who rage are doing so because they feel restriction. They think the Law of the Lord is oppressive. They think they that their life will be better without him! And not only that they want everyone to join with them and if you do not you are conspired against as well.
a. Romans 1:16-32
b. The Yoke of God to be hinderance – They want to “tear off their chains”

c. They think serving God they are slaves to sin!
Romans 6:16–17 “16 Don’t you know that if you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of that one you obey—either of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over,”

a. Social Media Happiness -Photoshopped lives!
b. A Godly household – Peace
The kingdom of God is a kingdom of paradox, where through the ugly defeat of a cross, a holy God is utterly glorified. Victory comes through defeat; healing through brokenness; finding self through losing self.

6 “I have installed my king

on Zion, my holy mountain.”

7 I will declare the LORD’s decree.

He said to me, “You are my Son;

today I have become your Father.

Matthew 3:17 “17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.””
Matthew 17:5 “5 While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!””

Luke 3:22 “22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.””
Luke 9:35 “35 Then a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, the Chosen One; listen to him!””
John 1:49 “49 “Rabbi,” Nathanael replied, “You are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel!””
Acts 13:33 “33 God has fulfilled this for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm: You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”
Hebrews 1:5 “5 For to which of the angels did he ever say, You are my Son; today I have become your Father, or again, I will be his Father, and he will be my Son?”
Hebrews 5:5 “5 In the same way, Christ did not exalt himself to become a high priest, but God who said to him, You are my Son; today I have become your Father,”
(v7) Today I have become your Father – Begotten
He was begotten – not made
To be Begotten is to be born – it is to have a
AD 325 Council of Nicaea – consisted of about 1800 church leaders. They were disputing a group of people called Arians – they said - Jesus was made. -
Nicaea Creed- We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, only begotten [that is, of the substance] of the Father, God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made [clearly in the face of the Arians], of one substance with the Father, through whom all things were made.
“When you beget, you beget something of the same kind as yourself. A man begets human babies, a beaver begets little beavers, and a bird begets eggs which turn into little birds. But when you make, you make something of a different kind from yourself. A bird makes a nest, a beaver builds a dam, a man makes a wireless set”]. (Mere Christianity, 157)

8 Ask of me,

and I will make the nations your inheritance

and the ends of the earth your possession.

3.REVERANCE

(v10-11) How do you show reverence?

10 So now, kings, be wise;

receive instruction, you judges of the earth.

and rejoice with trembling.

The Arc and Uzza – Do not touch it –He thought he was doing a good thing by catching the arc before if fell. But he did not understand that to a Holy God the dirt is more clean than the corrupted sinfulness of man.
Philippians 2:12 “12 Therefore, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

12 Pay homage to the Son or he will be angry

and you will perish in your rebellion,,

for his anger may ignite at any moment.

All who take refuge in him are happy.

(v12) And the people who fail to pay Homage to the so will be conquered the will perish.
- Kiss The Son - Pay Homage-
o Respecting someone for what they have done or are capable of doing.
o Bow before kings show respect in word and deed.
If we regard the kingdom of God as the rule and the reign of God, the kingdom was here when our Lord was here in person. It is present now wherever the Lord Jesus Christ is acknowledged as Lord. But it is to come with a greater fullness when everybody and everything will have to acknowledge His lordship. So we can say that the kingdom has come, the kingdom is among us, and the kingdom is yet to come. What, then, is the relationship of the Church to the kingdom? Surely it is this: the Church is an expression of the kingdom but is not to be equated with it.
