Holy Spirit gives us power to grow

2 Corinthians 3:16–18 ESV

16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

The same power that saves us, transforms us

There is more to the Christian life than salvation

We are supposed to move forward in Holiness

Sanctification is a process

There are levels to this

Holy spirit Gives us power to know

John 16:13–14 ESV

13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

God will reveal the truth of his word to you

You know it is the Holy Spirit because it will glorify Jesus

Holy Spirit gives us power over sin

Galatians 5:16–18 ESV

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The Flesh and the Spirit are at war with each other

The one you yield to determines the one who owns you
