‌I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

creator of heaven and earth;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

He descended to the dead

on the third day he rose again

he ascended into heaven,

Amazing God

When someone says we have an amazing God What do we think of? All the times he bailed us out of trouble, or even all the times he forgave us, or maybe even all the beautiful things he created. But let’s look at some other things he does for us. Right here I have six sided dice and on each side it has a prayer. one side has the lords prayer, then the prayer for peace, them prayer for loved ones, then the serenity prayer, and then last but not least the prayer of thanksgiving and the praise prayer. Now looking at all these we could use it to cover whatever we are going through, Right? This would sure make Gods life a-lot easier. to have six prayers to cover everything. Kinda like going to wall mart a one stop shop experience. do you get the mom and pop type of feeling when you go to Wall Mart? no there is get in get what you want and check yourself out atmosphere. You see God deals with more customers on an hourly basis than Wall Mart, but he wants a relationship with each of us. Just like when you go into a mom and pop store after a while they know your name your family and what you like. That’s the kind of God we serve. I know we could go to a different place for answers and a relationship. But who knows us like our creator, who loves us through everything good and bad. Who knows everything about us and cares that we are saved and make it to heaven. in a mom and pop store they care about you when you go to wall mart its how can they make the most from you for the least amount of effort. You see we get hung up on how much God requires from us, have you ever thought about what is required on his side of this relationship. look would it not be easier for him to have only six prayers to listen to? But when it comes to relationship it is never cookie cutter. When you are in a relationship with some one it is about both parties, its a give and take. So to show his love for us he listens to each of our prayers individually and completely. This is the kind of God we serve, and that provides for us. The Bible describes God as awesome, powerful, and mighty.

It emphasizes His greatness, holiness, and sovereignty over all creation.

The Bible also highlights God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness towards His people.

It teaches that God is to be feared, worshipped, and praised for His incredible works and wonders.

The Bible portrays God as a loving and just ruler who cares for His children and desires a personal relationship with them.in our scripture this morning we read the whole 145th Psalm which is a good chapter to read to help understand more about our Awesome God. There are four things we need to understand when thinking about how amazing a God we serve. 1. Sovereignty: The concept of God’s sovereignty refers to His supreme power and authority over all things. This includes His control over creation, history, and the lives of individuals. The Bible frequently speaks of God’s sovereignty, emphasizing that He is in complete control and works all things according to His will. This attribute of God contributes to His awesomeness, as it highlights His unmatched power and authority. 2. Holiness: The Bible often describes God as holy, meaning that He is set apart, perfect, and without sin. God’s holiness is a key aspect of His awesomeness, as it underscores His purity and perfection. The concept of holiness also emphasizes the need for reverence and awe in our relationship with God, recognizing His greatness and majesty. 3. Omnipotence: The Bible teaches that God is all-powerful, possessing unlimited strength and ability. This attribute of God’s omnipotence contributes to His awesomeness, as it highlights His ability to do all things and accomplish His purposes. The concept of God’s omnipotence reminds us of His greatness and majesty, inspiring awe and reverence in our hearts.

4. Love: The Bible also emphasizes God’s love for His creation, demonstrating His care, compassion, and desire for relationship with us. God’s love is a central aspect of His character and contributes to His awesomeness, as it reveals His unfailing kindness and mercy. The concept of God’s love reminds us of His greatness and goodness, inspiring gratitude and worship in response to His awesomeness. We could go on digging into how awesome God is and the things he does that cause us to be in aw of him. But I want us to realize we can do nothing to surprise God because he is all knowing and all loving. So let’s drop our guard and experience the awesomeness of God.
