Introduction
Last week we looked at Jesus handled the inward battle.
Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
This was His sanctuary of prayer.
He had others praying with Him.
During the spiritual battle you fight with everything your have.
Overcoming a spiritual battle we must be 100% dependent on God.
In our passage today we see the relentless attack from the enemy.
Read scripture
Today we want to look at 4 specific institutions Satan attacks.
These 4 institutions are God ordained and established.
Marriage
Israel
Government
Church
Marriage
It is a union that is designed for procreation, covenantal and lifelong, between one man and one woman.
The Bible begins with marriage and ends with marriage.
Rules Concerning Marriage
Getting married (Deut. 22:13-21, 22:28-29)
Being married (Exod. 21:10, Eph. 5:21-33)
Violating marriage (Exod. 20:14, Matt. 5:27-28)
Ending marriage (Deut. 24:1-4, Matt. 5:31-32, 19:3-8, 1 Cor. 7:12-16)
Marriage is God ordained institution to honor the eternal Father and building up each other.
Ephesians 5:31 KJV (WS)
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Marriage Represents
God on this earth
Christ and the church
Covenant
Marriage is Under Attack.

Israel
A Covenant people - promise to Abraham.
Abraham - promise of land (Canaan)
A Covenant with Isaac - Reaffirms the promise land.
A Covenant with Jacob (Israel)
The Israelites (Jacob’s children)
Numbers 24:9 KJV (WS)
He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
The enemy has attempted to destroy Israel.
Government
Established from the very beginning of time.
Adam & Eve - there was an order.
Noah - ruling over his family and building of the Ark.
Noah revealed God’s plan to follow Him or suffer the consequences.
Abram (Abraham) - Rule over his people.
God’s promise to Abram.
Moses - lead the people out of Egypt.
Governmental system established (Ex. 18)
Moses took the advise of Jethro and appoint judges over matters.
Government was established under a theocracy.
God is the king and has established rule.
Within human government we are to rule under the direction of God’s truth.
This is the foundation of our ruling.
Over time God’s truth has been removed from ruling and man’s opinion has been interjected.
Man’s opinion is influenced by the environment they are in.
When God is removed from the equation then we only have human opinion to rely upon.
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV (WS)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Ephesians 2:2–3 KJV (WS)
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Our current governmental function.
I not talking about the last 4 years.
I’m talking about decades of moving away from principles that are biblically grounded.
Some state have made it mandatory
1st grade students are required to “identify examples of ethnicity, equality, liberation, and systems of power.
By 4th grade students must be able to understand how discrimination, racial & ethnic oppression, & colonization have produced resistance movements.
It was reported by the Wall Street Journal these are clear Marxist indoctrination efforts.
In 1950 President Harry Truman said;
The fundamental basis of this Nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights come from the teaching which we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah, and St. Paul. I don’t think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don’t have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.
John F. Kennedy in his inaugural address said;
“The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.”
Our government is under attack and has been for many years.
We must do our Biblical duty to pray over, study over, and see how and individual who is running to hold a political position has voted to uphold biblical values or against biblical values.
Our vote must reflect those who hold biblical values to be their guiding principle.
Psalm 33:12 KJV (WS)
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
The Church
Satan has opposed anything of God.
The church is God’s bride.
We are preparing our self for the bridegroom.
I want to read a statement I read Wednesday night.

If I were the devil I would viciously attack those four divine institutions so graciously given by God to man, namely, the institutions of marriage, human government, the nation Israel, and the church.

Concerning the church, I would continue to attack it from the outside (just to keep in practice), but would concentrate the bulk of my evil efforts from within. “The church is dead” would become my creed and cry. If I were the devil I would do my utmost to convince professing Christians that the local church is finished! Not weak, not ineffective, but dead and decaying! I would encourage them to dig a hole, carve an epitaph, and bury it as quietly and quickly as possible. “Christianity” could then proceed to new glories where private cell groups would replace Sunday assemblies, and sermons would be set aside for buzz sessions! (Baptist Bulletin, Dec. 1971)

We are seeing a shift in the mindset of the Christian church.
We have become more acceptable to societal norms than ever before.
We must love all people but set a standard that is Biblical that we expect people to stand with.
What I’m saying is the church through God’s Word is the standard.
When we don’t expect people to live by that standard and allow a nonbiblical thinking to replace our biblical standard we living on dangerous ground.
What Should Believers Do in Today Society?
Know what the Bible teaches about marriage, Israel, Government, and the Church.
Lovingly accept those who differ in their view but don’t compromise our believes acquire their friendship.
Agree to disagree and keep our love for one another at the forefront of our relationship.
Never stop sharing our Biblical truths with those who differ from us.
Listen to what they believe but don’t allow their belief’s to change your Biblical view.
Compare your Biblical view with they view of the topic.
We are always striving to promote truth not personal beliefs to fit our personal agenda.
