Why We are Created

The Intro

Have you ever asked yourself, why are you here? Why are you even alive? What is all of this for? Who am I?

Humans have been trying to answer these questions for several years and many have researched their entire life to end up falling short.

Mental Illness has taken a toll on everyone and continues to get worse with people committing suicide at an alarming rate. During COVID, although it was amped up during this time, in some areas, the rate at which people were committing suicide was higher than the rate people were dying from COVID. People end up taking their life because they don’t know why they should keep on living. They forget on who created them and why, or maybe they just never knew in the first place.

I ask you this question, why were you created? (Have little journals for them for the week to keep). Write a sentence down and give me your answer. Many of you may know the textbook answer and if that’s what you truly believe, write it down. However, many of you may not know why you are created and meant to be here. Many of you might be trying to make up your own purpose as you go to find meaning.

Tonight, we answer this question. Maybe it won’t be what you believe or feel, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. You can believe in your heart that 2+2 is 5 and maybe there is some way in your mind to make it work, but that doesn’t change the fact that 2+2 is 4. You can try to convince me afterwards, but good luck. Facts are facts, regardless of feelings.

So in this time that you are here at this retreat, would you hear the words I say? Would you listen and soften your heart to contemplate what God is speaking to you in your heart. It might not be anything that I say or do, it may be you walking outside and looking up and processing, how did this all come to be without a creator? It might be during the worship, that you are reminded of God’s word and the music softening your heart to something beautiful.

Because I ask you this, If God were proven to be true, would you believe in Him? If the answer is yes, I pray that you will open your eyes and heart to a God who loves you so much that He would create you and die for you. If the answer i no, could you ask yourself why? Could you maybe find a way to soften your heart to let God show you how awesome He is and How He has created you for a wonderful purpose.
