The Wisdom of the Word
The Wisdom of the Word
The Word makes us wise for salvation.
Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
James 1:21 “Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
1 Peter 1:23 “since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;”
The Author of the Word
The Author of the Word
All of Scripture is inspired (breathed-out) by God.
2 Peter 1:20–21 “knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
The Authority of the Word
The Authority of the Word
Because Scripture is inspired by God, it is authoritative.
Psalm 103:19 “The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.”
Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
John 12:48 “The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”

For reproof
See Hebrews 4:12–13...
Psalm 119:71 “It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.”
Psalm 94:12–13 “Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.”
For correction
Psalm 119:67 “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.”
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

1 Timothy 4:7 “Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;”
Psalm 119:9–11 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
