Imposter Syndrome

Asking a monk why he became a monk
Many imperfect reasons — which I am endeavouring to purify every day
The will of Jesus is to find our life in him
The Good news of this Gospel is that everyone who turns to him will be received, and will find life in him even if their motivations are not pure

Putting our Fears to Rest

What is the evidence that we are Christ’s own forever?
It is not perfect behaviour. Perfect faith without any doubt. A PHD in Biblical Studies. Its not perfect attendance at church.
This passage is found in a conversation with people who were coming to Jesus for a free breakfast. They did not want to serve. They did not want to listen. They wanted to fill their bellies.
What does Jesus do? Does he send them away till they get their priorities straight? No! He shares the Good news with them:
No one who comes to me will be rejected by me.
Our focus is not to be one what motivates us to come but that we came.
Mumford and Sons: “Its not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive with every start.”
Our hope is in Jesus — not our own efforts

The Purpose of Christ

Watching Walter and Jamie work in tandem
Jesus came with the purpose of carrying out the will of our Father
What is the will of God: That I shall keep all those he has brought my way. For everlasting relationship
Marking infants as Christ’s own forever. There is deep comfort in that.
We were created for life and relationship — not death and destruction.
What does it mean to look to Jesus? That wherever we are — whatever circumstance — Jesus is accessible. There is no one without hope.

Eternal Life

Is life with God now. It is more than living forever. It is an abundance of shalom - harmony
It is a not a new concept with Jesus but was rooted in OT prophecies from Isaiah, Ezekiel, Hosea and Daniel.
Eternal life begins today, and it also a time where every wrong will be made right.

No Hidden Imposters

We need not fear rejection.
Be honest with our imperfect motivations and flawed efforts
Our hope in Jesus is Jesus not we ourselves. Pray that we will all be given grace to look to him wherever we are, and that we might come to trust in him. Faith is a gift more than it is something we produce in ourselves.
Remember God’s will is for us to live with him forever today.
