Welcome

Good afternoon and thank you for joining us today as we celebrate the marriage union between Danzel and Jaise. Please remember to silence your phones as we begin, I’d like to open the ceremony with a prayer.

Opening Prayer

1 John 4:7–16 NIV
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
In this passage John is attempting to get the believers to understand that love is the kingdom ethic which Jesus came and demonstrated. It's appropriate then that the apostle Paul likens the relationship between Christ and the church to a marriage with love being the binding material. Especially if we take the John's words “God is love.”
What's interesting in this passage is John is drawing attention to the reality that God made the first move of love. He chose to love us, when we were the most unlovable. He wanted us.
In the same way love is a choice in your marriage. It won't always be easy; it wasn’t easy for God to let go of Jesus and send Him to Creation. It wasn’t easy for Jesus to put on the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever seen.
But listen to me, everyone not just these two, choosing love won’t always be easy but it’ll always be worth it.
So, in your marriage be like your Heavenly Father and choose love first. Jaise, choose love first with your future husband. Danzel, choose love first with your future wife. To both of you choose love first with your future kids. And in doing so your marriage will please God and it will be the greatest evidence that you have placed Him at the center of it.
B/c as John said...God is love.

Vows

"I, Danzel, take you, Jaise, to be my wedded wife.
To have and to hold, from this day forward,
For better or worse, for richer or poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
Until death do us part.
This is my solemn vow."

Exchange of Rings

The rings you exchange today are a symbol of your love and commitment. Just as these rings are unbroken circles, so may your love be a bond that has no end. They represent your promises to each other and to God, a reminder to love, honor, and cherish each other, faithfully, every day of your lives together.

IF THEY WANT IT
DANZEL as you place the ring on JAISE’S finger, please repeat after me:
As a sign of my love for you, of choosing to share my whole life's journey with you,
and of my knowing that in marrying you shall become much more than I am, I give you this ring, with the pledge that with you, I shall become my highest expression of God,
Sharing myself and the gifts that I have with you and the world.
JAISE, as you place the ring on DANZEL’S finger, please repeat after me:
As a sign of my love for you, of choosing to share my whole life's journey with vou,
and of my knowing that in marrying you I shall become much more than I am, I give you this ring, with the pledge That with you, I shall become my highest expression of God,
Sharing myself and the gifts that I have with you and the world.

Declaration of Marriage

Since DANZEL and JAISE have chosen to join together in marriage, have shared their vows before God and this gathering, and have sealed those promises by exchanging rings, by the power vested in me by God I now pronounce you husband and wife, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
You may kiss the bride.
