So I found this at another church but I want to share this with you guys because it's I wish I had written it. I really want to steal it but I am going to give credit to Heritage Presbyterian Church. Not this Heritage Presbyterian but I was at another Heritage Presbyterian, but it says, to parents of young children may we suggest that God gave children the vibrant energy that sometimes causes them to wiggle. And make noise, they belong right here with God's people, where you have so Faithfully brought them stick with it, feel free to sit toward the front where it's easier for your little ones to see and hear what's going on. They Tire of seeing the backs of other heads quietly, explain the parts of the service in the actions of the pastor the elders. The singers etcetera and sing the songs and participate in the prayers children. Learn how to worship by watching you and if you leave the service with your child, please feel free to do so but please come back. Jesus said Let the little children come to me. Isn't that wonderful? And to the members of our church children are a gift, not a distraction. The sound of children in the church is the sound of Jesus, keeping his promises. It's the sound of his church that lives on, and Never Dies. Please welcome children. And give a smile of encouragement to their parents. Please. Feel free to let your child use the back of this card. We don't have a card but write and draw on it, but I don't have that but I just wanted to share that with you all. I I know that we have worth small church and so the sounds of the little ones can sometimes feel like all of the sudden the attention is on you, but that's not true. We love to hear the voices of children so that's not part of my sermon. That was just something I wanted to share with you all. So let's turn to Hebrews chapter 9. And we're going to be running through Hebrews 9:13 all the way down to 10:18. And that's exactly what I was talking about. That's wonderful. Amen, preach it. Okay so Before I read the passage, I want to talk about a traumatizing experience in my life. When we moved into town a little over six years ago, now, we moved into a rental. I've been a homeowner for many years, 20 years, and we moved into a rental and in the rental was a dishwasher and I begin to have a love-hate relationship with this dishwasher that was in this rental. Why? Well, because the dishwasher didn't clean dishes, there was nothing worse than going in and getting a glass and you bring it out and you put water in it. And then you start drinking it as you're drinking, realize you see, debris at the bottom of the glass. That's stuck to the bottom, or is it the fork in between the times of the fork? In this gross, whatever it was I tried switching detergents, are you not got away from generic? I, I got the best detergents thinking, okay that will clean. It didn't didn't work, the dishwasher couldn't clean dishes. I even checked online how can I tune up? The dishwasher I cleaned out every part of this dishwasher thinking, surely it's because the previous people who were renters mess this thing up now, didn't matter. I even read that this particular dishwasher. If you put the dishes in dirty it works better. Because it has a sensor for dirty dishes. So I tried that all that got me to do was to the point where we basically told the kids, you have to completely wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher. They need to be perfectly clean to put them in the dishwasher at which point the dishwasher is useless. Or what I would do is, I would just see that the first round didn't clean them. So, I would try. Again, the epitome of rinse wash repeat, just believe that cup in there for five Cycles, Maybe by then, it'll be clean. What was the solution? I had to get a new dishwasher. So I bought a Bosch dishwasher. And this thing is fabulous. I even put it in the rental and stuck that old dishwasher in the garage. And then we moved, I stuck the old dishwasher back in and took my boss with me because I can I stuck my barbecue, grill, grates in this Bosch dishwasher and a clean Durham. That is an amazing dishwasher. What is it have to do with the passage before us today? Well, think of that old Covenant system and the Bulls and the goats and every year animals would have to be sacrificed again and again and again and what did it do over the passage before us is going to say it could never cleanse the conscience. They said there needed to be a change in the system. There need to be a a change in the priesthood, a change in the temple, a change in the sacrifice. And that's our passage before us. Today, Jesus is a better sacrifice. Let's begin verse 13 for if the blood of bulls and goats and the sprinkling of defile persons with the ashes of a heifer sanctify for the purification of the flesh. How much more will the blood of Christ? Who through the eternal spirit offered himself without blemish to God purify, our conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God. Therefore, he's the mediator of a New Covenant so that those who are called may receive. The promised Eternal inheritance, since the death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first Covenant for where a will is involved. The death of the one who made it must be established for a will takes effect only at death since it is not in force. As long as the one who made it is alive there for not even the first Covenant was in Aggravated, without blood, for when, every commandment of the law has been declared by Moses to all the people. He took the blood of calves and goats with water and Scarlet, wool and hyssop in sprinkled, both the book itself and all the people saying, this is the blood of the Covenant that God commanded you For you and in the same way he sprinkled with a blood, both the tents and all the vessels used in worship indeed under the law, almost everything is purified with blood. And without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. So we see in this first section and in the reason I'm taking such a large section today is because remember, this, a book of Hebrews is a sermon on Psalm 110 that the author of Hebrews preached and wrote down, and It, we want to get the big picture of this and we're seeing that his whole argument is Jesus's better. And, in this section here, we see really, two main points about Jesus being the better sacrifice. The first is, his blood is better than bulls. And goats I didn't count of how many times the word blood is used here but it's a lot, it's in every verse. It's pretty graphic if you start thinking about it. But what we see for the first part of this argument that Jesus blood is better. Is that only his blood can purify our conscience that's in verses 13 and 14 the blood of bulls and goats could, in fact cleanse the flesh but they could do nothing for the inner person in the old Covenant, But Jesus blood because he's the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, his blood is perfect. If you go back a few chapters to Hebrews 4:15, the author had said, we don't have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness. The one who is in every respect been tempted, as we are yet without sin. Why is Jesus blood able to purify our conscience? Because Jesus was without sin. He's perfect. He was able to be our substitute in our sacrifice couple chapters later and Hebrews 7. He says, it was indeed fitting. We should have such a high priest, whose holy, and innocent, and unstained, and separated from Sinners and exalted above the heavens. He has no need like these high priest to offer sacrifices daily first for his own sins. And then for those of the people since he did this once for all when he offered up himself, the law of points men in their weaknesses, high priest, but the word of the oath which came later than the law, appoints his son, who Been made perfect forever. You remember when we were in that passage? I told you that the problem with the old Covenant was that those High priests were like mediators lawyers. And in the problem was their lawyer needed, a lawyer that they ate the high priest, they were Sinners and so they didn't continue. They had to offer sacrifices for their own sins first and then the sins of the people and none of those sacrifices could actually take away sin. It could only cover it for a year and so there's this rinse, wash, repeat cycle. Sin is covered for a year but it's not taken away. But Jesus who is perfect, has a better sacrifice because his blood actually forgive sins written in verse 14, it purifies our conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God, What you getting out there? We have clean conscience. Has we have no more guilt. We have freedom. And when we serve God, it's not trying to earn his favor. Now, now it is simply flowing because of our love for him. What we sang about in that second song, Come Ye Souls by sin Afflicted, is that now? Obedience becomes our happy choice because we've been given so much in Jesus that we gladly follow him. We gladly serve him, this is freedom, this is Joy. This is a cleanse conscience. And so, his offering through the eternal spirit in verse 14, what does it bring us? 9:12 says we have eternal Redemption. Meaning we've been bought out of the slave market of sand and we've been set free in Christ. 5:9 we have eternal salvation. We've been delivered from the consequences of sand in 9:15. We have an eternal inheritance meaning. There's something waiting for us a kingdom. That cannot be shaken. He's going to jump into this in Hebrews 11 and talk about this at all of the Old Testament Saints. We're looking forward to this Kingdom, that was coming the kingdom of our God, which we know is also the kingdom of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And how do we know it cuz he's been preaching on Psalm 110? And where is Jesus seated? Right now, at the right hand of the father, he's ruling and reigning with the greatest Authority. That's why chapters one and two we started with that in these last days he spoken to us in a son that Jesus is better than the Angels. He's better than Moses, he's better than everything and he's ruling and raining right now with the greatest Authority. Not only that he's interceding for us as a high priest forever. So, Jesus blood. Means we are free from guilt. We're free from actual guilt. Meaning we're no longer condemned but we're also free from in our consciences from the feeling of guilt.

That is glorious News. Why? Because we battle sin every day. And sometimes we lay our head down at night and we're almost overcome with guilt and shame for how we live the day. We have to remind ourselves in Christ. That guilt is gone. Our sins have been forgiven. He is able to purify. Our conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God. And so everyday becomes this reality that his mercies are new every morning. And if this is the day, the Lord has made and will rejoice and be glad in it.

S, the reason that Jesus blood is better than bulls and goats is because his blood is the only thing that can bring forgiveness of sins. I kind of mix the two together but the first one is he purifies our conscience. Second in the argument, verses 15 to 22, he actually brings forgiveness of sins and and the author uses an illustration. He's a good preacher. He uses an illustration of a last will and testament. Something they would have been very familiar with. We're all so familiar with it. Imagine if you had a rich relative who had placed their will into a sealed envelope that could not be opened until they die, Kind of like the movie knives out. I don't know if you saw that one, it was great. And then I don't want to spoil it so. But but you have to sign a rich relative and you're like, man, I hope my name's and that will, I hope it's in there. I'm going to be waiting. That's going to solve all my financial problems by by mortgage. Well, that's the picture here. The will is the New Covenant that Jesus established through his death. The sealed envelope are the benefits of it that are unavailable until he dies. It says, in verse 16. Where will has involved the death of the one who made, it must be established and it will takes effect only at death since it's not enforced. As long as the one who made it is alive The Inheritance. Well, what is it? That you're hoping for, in that will that's back in verse 15, he's the mediator of a New Covenant so that those who are called may receive the promised Eternal inheritance, what an inheritance. It's not just Landing, you know Hawaii that would be fantastic. But it's more than that. It's an eternal inheritance, its land in the Kingdom of God. In my house are many rooms and I go to prepare a place for you that where I am you may be also take cards. Don't Be Afraid. Don't fear. I'm coming back to get you that where I am you may be. Also Jesus told his disciples and we have this great hope that this world is not our home. The new Heavens, the new worth, that's our home, that's the inheritance and we've been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. There's no half inheritance is we don't have to fight to get in the will it's not me versus you Dennis. This is all of us. Get this inheritance. We get it, all of us everything in Christ. Hallelujah.

Minnie says in verse 22, indeed, under the law, almost everything is purified with blood. And without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. What is he getting at? The blood is the legal validation of the, we'll just like the death of a rich relative. So without the shedding of the blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. In the old Covenant, the death of the animal was the substitute for the death of the human being. Remember was pictured by that scapegoat where people put their hands on the goat. All their sins would be transferred to the goat and it would run off in the wilderness to die. And also the Passover Lamb would be a substitute and all the sins will be placed on the Passover Lamb and it would be killed and its blood would be put on the Ark of the Covenant in the holy of holies. So the sins would be covered for a year, but in the New Covenant, the death is not the death of bulls and goats, it's the death of Jesus, he's a better substitute for us. Why? Because it's once for all, it doesn't have to be repeated. Like my Bosch dishwasher. I put a dish and it gets clean. I don't have to repeat it. It is fantastic. I'm not getting paid for that either. It just is the reality.

Well, then, he makes his third Point here in verses 23 to 28. Let me read it for you. Thus, it was necessary for the copies of the Heavenly things to be purified with these rights, but the Heavenly things themselves with better, sacrifices than these for Christ is in her, not into the holy places, made with hands with your copies of the true things. I need to Heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly as the high priest, enter the holy places every year with the blood, not his own for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once and after that comes judgment. So Christ having been offered once to Bear the sins of many will a second time not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. What a glorious thought we saw last time, that the Earthly Tabernacle was just a shadow, a copy of the Heavenly Temple where God dwells in that the Earthly Tabernacle points to a greater reality and what was that reality? The lights are on the candles are lit, food is on the table. And God is at home and his feet are on the arc because it's his footstool. He's in the holy of holies. God is home. The lights are on food, is at the table draw near. That's the picture of the Tabernacle. Now they had to draw near through the clean and unclean laws through the priesthood and they were never able to go into the very presence of God because the veil was still there. This is why Jesus is better. He doesn't bring us to the presence of God on Earth in the Earthly Tabernacle. He brings us to the presence of God in heaven. And the veil is gone, Jesus is better. In fact. Isn't that what it says that he is better than the word here, crate own? We've seen it throughout the Book of Hebrews chapter 7. We have a better hope, chapter 7 and 8. We have a better Covenant here in 9:23. He's a better sacrifice. The Heavenly things themselves with better. Sacrifices than these chapter 10, he's a better possession chapter 11. We have a better country waiting for us chapter 11. We have a better Resurrection because it's an eternal resurrection and chapter 12, we have better blood than Able's. And I get to explain that when we get to chapter 12, why is the first martyr? Why is his blood? So important with his blood is the first shed on Earth. But Jesus is better because Abel's blood. Didn't forgive sins. Jesus, blood forgive sins as we saw before. The audience was tempted to return to the old Covenant and the author shows that don't go back to that old Covenant. It can Savor deliver. You know what? This reminds me of I teach church history at the Seminary I have for almost a decade now and There is this myth of the golden age in church history. Sometimes as Christians we buy into this, we think that if we could just go back to a prior age of the church in time, that everything would be wonderful. For those of you strong, reformed people in the crowd, man, it's 15:00 is Luther's. 95 Theses, Wittenberg door, told my leg, a Sola scriptura all that other Latin. Let's bring it up again. Let's just do it like that. It'll be great. Maybe it's the Puritans and Chris ripping would probably. He's got a lot of Puritans on the Shelf. We could just go to the 1600. That would be fantastic for some, it's the early church the before it was all corrupted. Let's just go to the earliest part of the church, but the reality is,

There's no golden age in the church. The golden age is yet to come when the kingdom of God, this world becomes the kingdom of our God and of his Christ. What we're waiting for the book of Hebrews talks about an often. When you go back to, those particular golden age is very often, certain practice has become the measurement, right? In our fear, we might want to go back to an age where we, we don't have this in Morality In sin, in our culture. And we just, we just legislated in the government, we legislated in the church and then, as long as all of that stuff is out of sight and out of mind, man, that would be great. I've had friends who moved to Idaho to build a compound where only Christians lived to get away from the world so that, then it would be perfect in their kids would grow up in an environment where they wouldn't be tempted. But I guess what we can't get away from our own hearts. Send indwelling send that remains. I'm so the author of Hebrews, he's he's pleading with these people. Don't go back to Judaism. Don't go back to the old Covenant. Jesus is better. And, and beloved, I would appeal to you today that if you're tempted to think that there's something better out there than Jesus, Don't go to that. There's no hope in that. Jesus is better. He's the only one that really saves. He appeared at the high point of the ages here. Are text says, in order to save us This is why he came. Not just to cover sin for a day or a year but to remove it forever. And when he appears a second time, he's going to make all things new and I love what he says here. Look at verse 27 and 28. There's a sober warning here for those who aren't Christians. It's appointed for man to die once and after that comes the judge, A sobering, isn't it that when we die comes the judgment. But that's not the author's point, like not his main point here because he's talking to Christians and he already had said the Jesus saves us and we have an internal inheritance sobers 28th is his main points. So then, soak rice having been offered once to Bear the sins of many will appear a second time, not to deal with sin. In other words, not to die for sin again. But to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. Here's our application to this. As we need to be eagerly waiting for Jesus. We believe he's better. We want to be waiting for him. He's really Lord. Jesus come make all things new, take away this and take away. All of these things that remain and establish righteousness on the earth and establish your kingdom. Bring the song inheritance where will get to be with you forever and our faith will be made sites. And I is not seen and Ear Has Not Heard what God has prepared for those who love him. And yet, then we'll see it because we will see him as he is.

So that is mean point about the blood of Jesus is better. It cleanses our conscience, it brings us real forgiveness and it lasts forever. We don't have to worry that we need to be washed again later. We've been washed. We've been cleansed. And so, he, he moves to the implications of this in verses 1 to 18 of chapter 10. He says Jesus blood is sufficient or able to save Well, that makes sense, doesn't it if he's able to pay for sins, once for all, then he really is able to save forever. And that is good news 10:1 for since the law has, but a shadow of the good things to come in instead of the true form of these realities they can never buy the same sacrifices that were continually offered every year. Make perfect, those who draw near otherwise. Would they not have ceased to be offered since the worshippers having once been cleansed would no longer have any consciousness of sins. That's like that old dishwasher didn't matter how many times I put that glass in there. It never cleaned it. There was never any cleanse conscience. I in fact, I became so suspicious of every dish. I would inspect it before I ever used it. All it did was create unease in me eating in my own house. But Jesus in these sacrifices verse 3, here's the conclusion. There's a reminder of sins every year for, it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. What was the purpose of the law? Well, it was a shadow in type, that pointed to Jesus and only Jesus's death cleanses, the heart from sin only. Jesus death, brings forgiveness in a right relationship with God, the blood of bulls and goats could never do it. Otherwise Jesus would have had to come. That's what he's getting at, but Jesus did come and he did do away with sacrifices of bulls and goats versus 9:55. When Christ came into the world, he said sacrifices and offerings. You've not desired but a body. You've prepared for me and burnt offerings and sin offerings. You've taken no pleasure than I said, behold. I've come to do your will of God as it is written of me in the scroll of the book. And when he said, you've neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings in sin offerings, these are offered according to the law of any ads. Behold I come to do your will He does away with the first in order to establish the second buy that will we've been Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all? So again, this is a sermon. So he's quoting Psalm 42 to build up his argument. That Jesus is able to save. Jesus sacrifice cancels the old system and he makes his case from an interesting Psalm you go read Psalm 40. We're not going to do it today, but it's a lament song. What is that? David is crying out in anguish? Asking God to rescue him from his enemies. In the midst of that, he says a body. You prepared for me, ears. You've prepared for me that you have. You didn't want sacrifices and offerings, but instead God, you wanted my whole body me, you wanted me to have open ears, a willing heart to obey you. And Jesus is the greater David. He's the promise son of David, as we've seen so many times and just as David is offering his whole life to God in the song. The father did not ask Jesus to make animal sacrifices in the temple. That's not what Jesus came to do. He asked Jesus, to sacrifice himself. And so, Jesus obeys, the father's will perfectly and this was contained in the scroll of the book. The decree, the plan of God. And you remember in the garden, what did Jesus say? Not my will but your will be done. And that's why the author concludes by that will look at this in 10:10 by that will, the father's will. Did Jesus obeyed perfectly? We have been Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. Once for all, we've been cleansed we've been set apart and made holy once for all That's really good news. Because you and I still battle sin. We still we still see this in this in our lives and we we struggle against it and Satan tempts us to believe that somehow we're out sending the grace of God. And the God is not going to accept and so we better work harder, do more be better. That's not what the gospel says. That's not what the book of Hebrews is saying right here by the will of the Father and Jesus perfect obedience to that. Will we have been Sanctified made holy set apart once for all in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. That's was pictured in baptism what a glorious. You can leave here knowing that you are holy before God that you aren't Sanctified before God, it's in the past tense. Now we know there's a present tense of being made. Holy and as we're going to see here, the rest of this, the way were made, holy is by communion with God, by drawing near to God. The byproduct of that is where made holy the whole goal is not Holiness in. And of itself, as if somehow we become wholly that we somehow don't need God or that we're not going to be in his presence. Know the goal is being in the presence of God. Commuting with him. And we get to do that now, because Jesus is at the right hand of the father, verse 11, every priest stands daily at a service offering repeatedly. The same sacrifices which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time, as single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet for by a single offering. He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified Do you hear what he's saying? The animal sacrifices, they didn't bring people into the presence of God, not into the holy of holies, not behind the veil, but Jesus because he offered himself once for all, he's now seated at the right hand of the Father, the author's returning to Psalm 110 and he's been receding for us and he's giving us access to the presence of God and what he said and 4:16. We can draw near to the throne of grace with confidence and find grace and mercy to help in our time of need why. Because Jesus is at the right hand of the father. See, this is the most important thing that we can here today. The most important thing we could here today and remind ourselves today is that Jesus is not dead. He's alive, he's seated at the right hand of the father and he's made a way of access for us to draw near to God with confidence boldness. And we can find grace and mercy to help in our time of need. Do you need grace? And mercy today. Jesus is the way by which we receive grace and mercy from the father. And it's always available. There's never An Inconvenient time to come to the father. He's not like Earthly fathers, who are watching the game? There's no playoff season with God. There's no distraction because he's gone fishing. He's Not absent from the home, he's not away from his Temple. He's there. And he wants you to draw near and ask him, whatever you want. And what he gives you his grace and mercy to help in your time of need. That's really, really good news.

This is what he's doing now, this is what Jesus is doing. We draw near to the father Jesus accomplished it in first 14, look at what it says. In verse 14, by a single offering, he has perfected past tense, for all time those who are present tense being Sanctified, he made us perfect. You know what? That is. The author doesn't use the word, but it's the doctrine of justification by faith alone. We've been declared righteous in Jesus and we receive it not by our works. But by faith believing, And everyone who has been perfected are being Sanctified, the byproduct. The the result is that we are drawing near to God with confidence and he is sanctifying us at the right hand of the father Unless you worried that all three persons of the Trinity or absent. Look at verses 15 to 18. I knew you weren't worried about that, but there is a trinitarian shape to this passage the Holy Spirit. Also Bears witness to us for after saying, this is the Covenant, I will make with them. After those days declares the Lord, I will put my laws on their hearts and write them on their minds. And he adds, I will remember their sins and Lawless Deeds, no more. Where there is forgiveness of these. There is no longer any offering of sin. What's he saying?

All of the Trinity is for you and not against you. God the Father God, the son, God the Holy Spirit are for you beloved, not against you. The father planned this salvation. It's part of his will and his plan and he sent his son in the sun died for you to bring you near to God, and he's seated at the right hand of the father, as your king, and as your high priest, and the spirit here, now is an eyewitness who makes this reality known to your heart, through the New Covenant. How does he do it? He writes God's law in your heart. He brings you the reality that your sins are forgiven. he testifies with your spirit that indeed, all of this is true and you are forgiven And if you're forgiven, there's no need for Jesus to die again because he actually paid it all. It says, if the spirit of God is whispering in your ear, I know it sounds too good to be true but it is I know that you might think the father doesn't love you that he's just you know ready for you to get out of line so he can slap you back into place like some Earthly father, but that's not how our heavenly father. Is he loves you? The sun is better than anything else in this world. The spirit is just, he's Whispering, I wrote this in your mind and on your hearts I'm reminding you that you're really forgiven in Christ because you're forgiven Jesus doesn't have to die again. In other words, the spirit is an eye witness to everything that happened and he says it's true, which means you're clean. You're forgiven. What an incredible thought. I love the musical. Lame is not so much the video one, but like, the stage play, I've seen it twice and Jean, Valjean, you know, that famous song who am I? And he's, you know, the story of lame is I don't think I'm ruining it for anybody. Maybe I am new younger, folks. But Jean Valjean is he goes to jail because he had stolen a loaf of bread to in his poverty to feed hungry people. And then he gets out after 19 years of prison, he gets out and he has shown kindness by a man who lets him into his home. And then, he steals a bunch of his silverware and is his candlesticks and he runs off. And he's, he's just overwhelmed with guilt because he takes a fake name and he becomes successful. And, and then it all be gets exposed because, you know, the story, but in that in that guilt he's singing the song. Who Am I? Should I just keep my false name should I just keep living successes or should I actually say who I really am? And it's Powerful moment when he sings out, I'm Jean Valjean, and then he sings out. I am 24601 that brand he had from when he was a criminal. And what does it do in that movie? His conscience is clear and and he's free like he's never been before. He's free to go live the way that he knew he wanted to live into to Die the way he wanted to die in the French Revolution and it brings tears and it's amazing and you should go see it even if you have to settle for the movie. Wolverine Jean, Valjean it's fine.

Why is Jesus a better sacrifice? Why will the author says because he actually forgive sins? That's why he's better. He's better because he cleanses our conscience, these better because now we can draw near to God with assurance and boldness. I said it before we have refrigerator rights in the kingdom of God. And we know it's true because what are we going to do? We're going to take the table, we're going to have a meal, we're seated at his table, we have access to the, we are the family of God, we have access to everything that it means to be a child of God. Paul says in Romans, if he didn't spare his son, how will he not with him freely? Give us all things. And you might be sitting here today wondering. Can I even pray to God? Because I sinned? So, greatly this week. I feel like I got to clean myself up before I could ever pray to him for I could ever draw near to him. Maybe it's what's been keeping you from coming to church? Is it you feel like you got to clean yourself up before you come? Will guess what? You can't clean yourself up. Jesus is the one who cleans you up. And if Jesus is cleaned you up and you can come because you're part of the family and you're forgiven and you're clean and all of the rest is a Lie from Satan. so, draw near John Deere, he strengthens our faith, so that we believe what is true. The spirit of God is teaching our hearts in Minds this reality. Let me steal an application from my next sermon. Look, a few verses later in verse 23 to 25 of chapter 10. Let us hold fast, the confession of Our Hope, without wavering for he, who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir one another up to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together is as the habit of sound, but encouraging, one, another and all the more as you see the day Drawing Near, this is sermon. Remember and he's turning from his teaching into his application in chapter 10 and the author of Hebrews. Says the application of this truth is that we don't neglect meeting together. Why? Because we need to encourage one another about these realities. We need to be telling each other the gospel and reminding each other. That Jesus is better than anything in this world offers and all the Moors the days approaching because our Eternal inheritance is coming, that envelope is going to be opened. And guess what? All your names are in it, beloved, if you believed in Jesus, And there's no half inheritance has, you're not getting the Reno broom closet under the stairs, you're not Harry Potter. You're going to get the full inheritance.

What a glorious. I don't have anything else to share. I think we should turn the communion now. Let's pray, father, thank you for this time. This This day to gather to encourage one another thank you for this meal that were about to partake of. That reminds us that we are accepted. That were part of the family of God. Thank you. That Jesus is a better sacrifice. And to think that he knew all of the sin, I was going to commit my entire life and he died for it and he took it away and I'm completely cleansed. It doesn't want to make me sin all the more instead it makes me want to obey out of love.

Makes me want to give my life just as Jesus said. A body, you prepared for me. And I've come to do your will Lord. May it be our hearts desire that we would say, we would offer our bodies, a Living Sacrifice, holy and pleasing to you, it's our spiritual worship. I'm Yours, Lord, do with us whatever you want.

We love you. We thank you for this day in Jesus name. Amen.
