First, God does not want to live in our imagination but to imagine imitating Him.

When I was young, my sibling and I decided to make a make-believe lemon stand in our front yard. We used plastic cups, dirty and water. Then, we gathered some wood for a lemonade stand. It was uneven, but it worked. We were poor and wanted to sell our make-believe lemonade for 5 cents for some ice cream truck when it came by. In the meantime, this little lady was walking down the street. It was hot. She looked like she was going to faint. When she got to our stand, she reached into her purse for changes and said, what are you selling? We did not answer the lady; we looked straight down because my mother would have punished us for giving someone something unclean.

It is okay to imagine going to the bank to pay off your house note or earning a high score on your text after studying hard or whether those things occur; they are of a good report. John 15:7 says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask to want you to desire, and it shall be done for you.” God wants us to be real because He is real.

Secondly, to be real, we must pray and meditate on God's word. When we want something, we should immediately pray for it. However, we will not get everything we want whenever we want it. But God will give us what we need. He will give us endurance, patience, and perfect peace while we wait if it is for His purpose. Paul tells us in Phil 4:19 God will supply our needs.

Thirdly, while we wait, God wants us to imitate Him. Phil 4:8 Paul tells us to program our minds with true, noble, right, just, pure, lovely thoughts. Of the good report, virtuous means honesty and compassion, and praiseworthy means doing something admirable or ethically good. What we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words and actions. We want to be obedient to God's word in everything we do.

Lastly, we will make sound decisions as we grow physically and spiritually. I learned how to make a healthy, sweet, tasty, and delicious lemonade with a stronger foundation than wood and steel. God wants us to be real because He is Real; he will give us all the right ingredients needed to be productive as we face life's challenges.
