Let’s Go Across Together

I would dare say today that that many of us if not all of us have heard this passage of scripture preached, read and we have even watched it on television. We have learned that the children of Israel had been wandering around in the wilderness for 40 years all because of their disobedience to God Almighty. It is amazing to me brothers and sisters that it took them that long to get from point A to point B when they could have gotten there in a fraction of the time if they had only been obedient to the voice of the Lord and to His servant. I am inclined to believe that disobedience did start or stop in the book of Joshua. As far back as the Garden of Eden and until today- obedience is still running rampant in the land.
Once, a family decided to play a game of tug-of-war in the backyard. They all teamed up, and the dad was so proud they were working together. With laughter and teamwork, they pulled together and conquered their neighbor's competitive family. It was lighthearted and fun, but it reminded them that just like in life, standing together leads to victory—even if it’s just a game! In Galatians 6:2, we see this principle echoed as we carry each other’s burdens, showcasing the strength of unity in family and friendship.
A little boy was trying to pick up a big box of toys but struggled. His older sister came over and said, 'Let’s do it together!' With both of them pulling, they managed to lift the box easily. They laughed and joked about how teamwork made things easier. It’s a simple picture of how God calls us in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, where two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor! Together as family and friends, we can tackle life’s challenges with joy.
During a church service, a pastor asked the congregation to put their arms around each other. Instantly, the room filled with smiles and laughter as people in the pews wrapped their arms around family and friends, making a human chain of support. This simple act reminded everyone of the importance of standing together in community. Just as Romans 12:10 highlights loving one another deeply, the joy of standing united can lighten burdens and amplify laughter in our lives!
At a family reunion, everyone gathered around to take a photo. One person went to the front, striking a funny pose, while others joined in. The chaos of everyone trying to fit in one frame brought so much laughter! It’s a reminder that, just like that photo, families and friends bring unique personalities that complement each other when they stand together in unity. Psalm 133:1 says how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Together, we create beautiful memories and laughter!
