Jesus in Our Suffering
Last week we talked about Ps 22 How jesus understands your pain your suffering your irritation when life just aint right and because we have a Good God that became a man who suffered in all ways he understands he gets us so we can with confidence bring our pain to him and he is thee to comfort us. This week we will be expanding a little on that back in Luke today picking up where we left off a few weeks ago Chapter 4 verse 38 through 44 we will see Jesus as a compassionate healer in our suffering

Bible Passage: Luke 4:38–44

Summary: In this passage, we witness Jesus's deep compassion as He heals Simon's mother-in-law, casts out demons, and heals many who are sick, showcasing His authority and love in the face of human suffering. Here he shows us what I was teaching you last week He gets us our pain and he has come to help
Big Idea: God's compassion through Jesus provides hope and healing for our suffering, encouraging us to bring our burdens to Him as He is always ready to intervene in our lives.

1. Immediate Intervention In Illness

Luke 4:38-39
Look how Jesus immediately heals Simon's mother-in-law, showcasing His willingness to intervene in our personal lives and address our specific needs. He cares about the small details of your life
Matthew 10:30–31 NASB95
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. “So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
1 Peter 5:7 NASB95
casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
John 11:35 NASB95
Jesus wept.
he wept why? his friend died, did he know he was sick yes, did he plan to ressurect him yes,, then why did he weep knoing in just a moment he would awaken from the dead
becasue he gets us , he cares, he loves, he grieves, even in the little things Jesus cares this is his compassion towards us
John 11:33–35 ESV
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept.
lazarus sisters broken by the death of thier brother, tears falling down thier cheeks thier hearts crushed Jesus felt thier pain and wept
Jesus feels your pain too and when you hurt he knows and feels it and wants to come alongside you and help but we must take our burdens to him
Jesus notices even the smallest parts of our lives and steps in with compassion.
His authority and willingness to act, reassuring us that in our own unique challenges, we can too experience this compassionate presence of Christ.

2. Invincible Power Over Darkness

Luke 4:41
Look how Jesus rebukes and silences the demons, indicating His supreme authority over all spiritual realms. This distinguishes Him as the ultimate healer not merely of bodily ailments but of the spiritual hold within us. Jesus’s power assures us that no spiritual oppression is greater than His healing touch.
1 John 4:4 NASB95
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Consider the moment when Jesus calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee. The disciples were terrified, caught in a raging tempest, feeling utterly hopeless. But Jesus stood and commanded, "Peace! Be still!" In that moment, His power over darkness was evident; He brought calm to chaos. This story is a powerful reminder that no matter how dark our circumstances may seem, Jesus can speak light and peace into our storms.
So we can Trust His incredible authority and control even the demonic he is lord over all of creation over good and evil of sickness and health therefore we can fully trust in his full sovereignty and as we do we can trust Jesus to overcome the deepest spiritual, physical, financial, relational struggles in you lives.

3. Inseparable Mission Of Mercy

Luke 4:42-44
Jesus's commitment to preach the good news of the Kingdom despite the demands of constant healing. His mission includes both physical and spiritual wholeness for all humanity. This dual focus underscores His depth of compassion not just for the present physical world but for the eternal condition of the soul. We really need to balance physical care with spiritual outreach, mimicking Jesus's model of comprehensive ministry of healing and salvation.
So many times do we walk to and from the fridge from store to store from restaurant to restaurant what If we looked to seek his kingdom first if we followed jesus example how would it change our lives
Matthew 6:24–33 NASB95
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? “And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? “And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
As you participate in church life, consider how easy it is to get caught up in criticism or gossip. To maintain a focus on the kingdom, implement a 'compliment challenge' within your church community. Encourage members to intentionally praise and uplift one another regularly. Set targets, such as three positive acknowledgments per week. This practice shifts the culture towards encouragement, fostering unity and love within your congregation and reflecting the heart of Christ in your gatherings.

4. Infinite Compassion For Crowds

Luke 4:40
Consider today how Jesus healed many who were sick as they came to Him with their burdens. This passage can suggest Christ's endless capacity to care for the collective suffering of humanity.
Jesus has inexhaustible compassion which is available to all to each and every one of you this morning
but notice he didn't heal until they cam to him with their burdens.
Just look at openness of Jesus's embrace for every kind of troubled soul. He didnt care about thier background thier skin tone, if they had been a regular temple worshipper, if they had paid up in thier tithes no He saw men and woman with burdens from illness to deamonic possession and they came to him in faith expecting and beliving he could and would heal them
And thats all he asks of you today come to hi with your burdens in faith and he has a inexhustable amount of Grace healing compassion and mercy he is just waiting to pour out on you
So come to Jesus as you are because He is ready and able to receive and restore them to health and wholeness. he isnt waiting for you to clean everthing up he wants you now and today.
