DO YOU SEE WHAT GOD IS DOING?
WAITING FOR THE RIGHT TIME
*** Touch on a bit of History. ***

A. Jesus came at the time Jews were under Roman Colonialism.

He had to confront this problems
Worked under oppressive situation but moved mightily in the spirit

B. Colonisation of Africa

Africa was colonised
Apartheid had its effect on us
Poverty due to lack of opportunities had effect
Therefore take advantage of the liberty in the country and the liberty in Christ.
These two work together to present opportunities to strive

C. Don’t limit yourself in this world. How?

Dwelling too much inputs failures - learn lessons and move on
Things not going your way - change them to go your way
Decision making - don’t over dream but allow `god to over dream for you

D. Skills development

Jesus and most disciples were not highly learned because of where they came from.
Most were fishermen or tradesman who used hands
Paul was educated from the best Rabbi’s and scholars, but also knew how to make tents.
Read books, keep informed about what is happening, new trends, governments (laws, constitution), etc
Do some courses to equip self if you have that opportunity.
PROOF TEXT:
ACTS 1:4-9 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.”
*They asked a question*
Jesus answer suggests that:
Don’t worry - meaning don’t concern yourself with what is not your responsibility
Wait - upon God to fulfil his part. Our part follows what God is doing, we don’t go before God but follow Him.
wait for your confirmation
Wait for instruction
Wait for power - it is God who a anoint
When HE said concerning the hour and the time, only the father knows he was referring only to the second coming and the judgement.
Concerning the receiving of the Holy Spirit He knew that the time was right, that is why He said to them wait on Jerusalem.
IT means when God say wait, then rest assure that He will do it. Waiting is our part and making things happen is Gods part.
MAKE YOURSELF READY BY:

1. Prayer without ceasing

1 Samuel 12:23-24 “23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: 24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”

2. Speaking in tongues

1 Corinthians 14:1-5 “Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.”

3. Doing good works

Ephesians 6:7-8 “7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: 8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.”

4. Equip yourself with the word. Vocabulary, etc

2 Timothy 2:15 “15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 3:15-17 “15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
