You’ve Stay Here Long Enough.

Deuteronomy 2:3 And the LORD spake unto me, saying, 3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and saints of God We have a serious message that’s fresh and new. I see God at work here in Deuteronomy Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.

1. In Deuteronomy 1 This Moses last and final message to Israel.

2. The bible says in verse that Israel has been free from Egypt for Forty Year now

3. The scripture says in verse 3 that Moses told Israel all that God told him to tell them.

Somebody ask me What did God tell Moses to tell Israel?

1.God told Moses to tell them in Verses 4&5 Now that youve defeated Sihon and Og Remember this this.... You’ve stayed on Mount Sinai too long that enough.

Tell your neighbor that’s enough.

2. God told Moses to tell the Children of Israel in Verses 6-8 Go to all the Land that I tell you. Go all the way to the Great River Euphrates.Because I promised it to Abraham Isaac and Jacob. and their Offsprings. And the church said Amen. Because we have a promise from God. And God always keeps His promise.

3. God told Moses to tell the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 1:9-18 How the leadership has to be laid out. Moses clearly says in verse 12 that he can not do it all. Moses said I can’t solve all your problems, I can’t fix all your troubles and I can’t settle all of your arguments. So choose good men leaders from every tribe and I’ll ordain them for service. and the congregation said in verse 17 that it was good for us to do. Moses said that the leader must be fair firm and faithful. Moses said in essence if its’ good for the goose then it’s good for the gander.Treat them all the same. Then to top it all off Moses said that the Lord told him to tell Israel and when a matter is too hard for the leaders to solve, Moses said bring it to me and I’ll hear it. And so I command you this day to do that. And the church said Amen.

Then Moses retold the events from Egypt and beyond so let listen to Moses their leader tell the stories again. Everybody say Again. And so let me teach you this the word Deuteronomy means second law… It means I’m telling you again.

And so Moses goes into a rather lengthy discourse of Israel’s good and bad behavior.

In verse 19-25 the bible says that God told Moses to send out spies in to the land of the Amorites. and they went through that harsh wilderness terrain. They spied out the land . They brought back fruit and said it is truly a land that flows with milk and honey. But Moses said but y’all spies got scared of the children of Anak because the anakims were giants they were huge men Bigger and taller that Shaq Oneal. Moses said But the Lord got angry with your unbelief. Moses said you’ve seen God deliver you countless times since you left Egypt. God gave Israel protection of a pillar of cloud by day ( A tornado by day) and a pillar of fire by night and (a tornado by night) and nobody dare mess with Israel because their God protected them. And Moses said that God said and Now you’re not going to believe in me.. In other words now ya’ll gon start tripping.

So God says to Moses Tell them that Only Caleb and Joshua came back with a good report. They were the only two people that said Yeah Let’s go up at once and possess the land. Moses said to the 10 spies and because you’ll refuse to believe the report of the Lord. And because you’ll spread ed discord through the camp and the people began complaining big time.

Moses told them about themselves, and so the bible says that they started weeping and crying and girded up and said we are going to go up and fight the armies of the Amorites like God told us to do at the first. God told Moses go tell them don’t go into battle because I’m not with you. Church we should never move ahead or backward if the Lord is not with us. But They went any way and the Amorites whopped them so bad until they were running away like bees leaving a stirred up nest. yes indeed. But that’s not all. Then Moses said and another thing

All of ya’ll are going to die off first before the next generation leaves from going around and around this mountain. Then Moses also explain that he wouldn’t get to go either because he got so angry with the congregation for not wanting to move forward as God had told them to do..... And that says to me Don’t allow my personal feeling to block my blessings especially when some folk ain’t gon listen even if Jesus Christ Himself cam down and told them. Brothers and sisters Moses got so mad until he had to past the torch and let Jonathan led the Children of Israel across the Jordan River. Moses had to sit upon the top of the mountain and watch them move forward.

This is a big story it’s like the breaking news of the ancient biblical text. This story is obviously very important to God because it’s repeated through out scripture.

And the significance of that is that we’ve got to believe God’s Word, His Will, His Work and His Way. And that’s what’s wrong with Modern Society. too many people try to rationalize God’s Word, Marginalize God’s Word and then Minimize God’s Word.

But The bible says in verse 45& 46 So you came back and cried before the LORD, but the LORD did not listen to you; he refused to pay attention to you. 46 So you stayed in Kadesh a long time.

The word of God says what it God means and means what God said. I don’t always like it but I obey it. Moses gave a vivid history lesson spanning 40 years of deliverance. Moses is an old man now. He’s feeling some kind of way about things but Moses delivers God’s message to Israel as a Cogonoscente ge( Khan - Ya- Shin-Ti ). A Cogonoscenti is aperson with expert knowledge in a subject area. Moses knew those people and Moses obeyed God. Moses spoke with Clarity, Cleared eyeness and Laser Focused precision. Moses spoke as a Cogonoscente (Khan-Ya-Shin-Ti)

Verse 46 from the KJV says “ So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.

And I feel that we too go through wilderness experiences as Moses was giving a History Lesson on. And what God really wants from us is that we would Honor Him, Obey Him,Respect Him, Love Him and Serve Him. God made Israel go around and around the mountains for forty years because of their unfaithful hearts.

In this new season that we now face, we must get ready for it. We must prepare for the bigger, better, brighter, bolder days that are ahead. Trouble can’t last always.

In light of the recent American election, Let’s all accept what God has allowed and remember the words of Dr. M.L.K Jr. he said “We must accept finite disappointments but never lose hope in the Infinite possibilities of God.” And President Biden said You can’t Love your country only when you win. And what that means in light of this text is that Israel should have loved God and followed his commandments so that they wouldn’t have to have roamed around the same set of mountains for 40 years.

That’s a long time to be punished. That like a life in prison sentence. Just think of it right now those of us who are above 50 years old if we were sentenced to roaming around the same mountains for 40 years we’d be dead before we see redemption. But it was Israel’s own fault. Tell your neighbor: It was their own fault. They did that!

So what now. Well Deuteronomy 2:1-7 is where the Lord want me to direct the conversation. The bible says

DT. 2:1 Then we turned around, and we traveled on the desert road toward the Red Sea, as the LORD had told me to do. We traveled through the mountains of Edom for many days.

Why did the Israelites turn around and go another way? Somebody say Why Rev? It was because of the Edomites. The Edomites were descendants of Esau. Esau was Jacob’s brother that he stole his birth right from. And Esau and Jacob had a deadly feud going on. Just like the Hatfields and the Mc Coys. Just like Cain killed his brother Abel in (Gen. 4); Just like Jacob’s wives competed with one another in (Gen. 29–30); Just like Jacob favored Joseph and Joseph’s brothers hated him (Gen. 37); Just like King Saul and tried to kill David because the women along the way said Saul has killed his thousand but David his ten thousands in (1 Sam. 19–20). Just like the The Corinthian church was divided four ways in (1 Cor. 1:12); Just like the Galatian Church was biting and devouring each other in (Gal. 5:15); Just like the saints in Ephesus needed to be kind and forgive each other in (Eph. 4:31–32); and Just like in the Philippian church when the two women were at odds with each other in (Phil. 4:2–3).

This ain’t nothing new because Even in the Christian family today, there are brothers and sisters in the local church don’t always love each other. Family feuds and church disagreements and even entire nations cultivate and sustain hatred for one another as we have seen in this recent election. The vote was straight down racial and partisan political lines. And if we’re not careful a war could wage from within and many innocent people could be hurt.

And so the Edomites didn’t want Israel to even go through their land, and Moses took the sensible way out of a bad situation, so they turned! Deuteronomy 2:1 says 1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days. Yes indeed. Teach me Pastor.

Then the bible says that the second directive in the text in Deuteronomy Chapter 2 is in verses 2&3 And the LORD spake unto me, saying, 3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

The Good Lord is saying that it’s time for a change you’ve been in this condition a long time, you’ve suffered enough, you’ve endured hardship after hardship and that’s enough. Can I teach you something I learned many many years ago it seem like a lifetime ago. I learned that You are where you are because that is exactly where you want to be.

After you get grown you can’t blame anybody for whatever did or didn’t happen in your life. My suggestion is for you to talk to God about it. The song writer said “My life is in your hand, to you I belong I give myself I give myself to you.” The Lord gave Israel and new start. Everybody say Thank You Lord. Saints of God Begin Again Every day is a fresh beginning,Every morning is the word made new. You who are weary of sorrow and sinning, Here is a beautiful hope for you, A hope for me and a hope for you. Every day is a fresh beginning; Listen, my soul, to the glad refrain, And,spite of old sorrow and older sinning, And puzzles forecast ed and possible pain, Take heart with the day, and begin again. What I get out of this glorious poem is, that the author Susan Coolidge, is saying sometimes we all need a fresh new beginning, so Begin Again.

I’m pressing the reset button and my advice is you ought to press the reset button too. Remember that if God lead you to it He can bring you through it. The bible says in the NCV in verses 2&3 Then the LORD said to me, 3 “You have traveled through these mountains long enough. Turn north. Plot a new path forward don’t be insane, because insanity is when you do the same thing over and over and expect different results.

God said to Israel you’ve traveled through these mountains long enough.

Have you ever just buckled down and paid on a bill that you thought would never end ? and the people sent you a check back saying you’re paid in full and here’s a check for over payment.

In other words in essence you’ve been in that condition long enough now move on. That’s a Thank you Jesus moment.

Somebody say thank you Jesus I’ve Been there and done that

The next directive that the bible gives to the children of Israel is in verses 4&5 And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: 5 Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. I see several things here

1.The Lord said very shortly you’ll be going through your kin folks land.

2. They’re scared of you because of your reputation but don’t let that go to your head Israel.

3.Don’t touch em don’t fight try to intimidate them because I’m with them also. I gave them that land because of Esau so tip light. 4. The Lord said I’m not going to even give you an foot of their land not even an inch. And that says to me what God has for you is for you. Come on say Amen somebody.

I’m almost through and so The bible says in verses 6&7 6 You must pay them in silver for any food you eat or water you drink.’ ”7 The LORD your God has blessed everything you have done; he has protected you while you traveled through this great desert. The LORD your God has been with you for the past forty years, and you have had everything you needed.

In verse 6 The Lord said just because it’s your kin folk don’t go in their land and try to muoch off of them.Pay your fair share because I have anointed them to be where they are so don’t try to go and take advantage of them.

Then in verse 7 the bible says “For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

(The Lord reminded Israel that He demanded that they would be seen by their cousins as “peacemakers.”

Tell your neighbor: We’ve got to be peacemakers

Brothers and sisters God had been so good to Israel He reminded them,

1. How He had graciously cared for Israel

2. How He blessed His people while they wandered 40 years around and around preach Rev Allen. 3. He reminded them that so there was no need for them to attack their brothers or try to exploit them (Deut. 2:7).

Lastly 4. The Good Lord God Jehovah would give Israel all the land they needed without them even having to go to war.

That means No More Fighting. And the church said Amen.

That means respecting our kin folk because God has blessed and anointed them just like you. And the church said Amen.

Finally That means that God has forgiven us and we don’t have to go around and around that same old stupid mountain, Now we can move forward we can go Northward.

And church If more individuals, families, and nations were content with the blessings God has given them, there would be less fighting among them And We can look up and stop holding our heads down .

We can cast our cares upon the Lord for He careth for us. We can step into our new future and let go and let God And the church said Amen.
