Jesus Made Peace For Us

John 14:27

The objective of most all wars is victory and peace......sometimes maybe it is just peace!

The reality of life is that we are separated from God.....Fallen from His image.......broken fellowship.....in a since that battle of this life is returning to God......Victory for us is making peace with God! That involves paying the penalty for our sins, which is eternal separation from God in torment! That is the only way peace with God can be had!

Jesus has made that peace for us, it is not worldly peace! Although, I think we look for worldly peace, that will never be lasting.

Ephesians 2:15 “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;”

Colossians 1:9-23..........In this passage sums up the reality of life and the battle/struggle of making peace with God......

delivered from the powers of darkness

partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light

Translated into the Kingdom of Jesus

The next part speaks of Who did this and how He made our peace.....

Redemption by His Blood

Forgiveness of sins

Jesus is the image of God the Father

The invisible God....1 Timothy 6:16 “Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.”

Firstborn of all creation....Psalm 89:27 “Also I will make him my firstborn, Higher than the kings of the earth.”

All things were created by Jesus,

Through Him

For Him

Jesus is before all things

All things are held together by Him

All the fulness of the Godhead dwelt in Jesus Christ while He was on this earth!

He is all of those things God the Father has then made Jesus the reconciliation for our sins!

Reconciling all things to Himself....which is the reality of life.....to be reconciled with God!

John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

He did it.........He made peace with God for us!!!!

Hebrews 10:12 “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”

When He sat down His task was complete!

Hebrews 2:10 “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”

What is left for us to do........continue in the faith....grounded and settled...........from the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!!!

Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

Galatians 5:17 “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

The flesh and the Spirit are at odds with one another, in 2 ways.....

The flesh is not the right way

Also, The flesh wars against the Spirit for us to walk in the flesh!!!!!

If the Holy Spirit lives in us, let us walk it out.....Our lives are dictated by the hope that we have!

Romans 8:12–14 “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

Mortify the flesh.....that is denying ourselves and following Christ.....that is what continuing in the faith.........Jesus our Hope and Peace with God!!!

Matthew 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Our hope is in Jesus Christ, He is our peace, because He made peace with God for us!!!

We do not trust in our fleshly life......our life does depend on us......we look past us to see Jesus and follow Him
