PRAY
“Therefore, fear the Lord and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the Lord. But if it doesn’t please you to worship the Lord, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship—the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord.”
1. The chose is your who you follow
They are at Shechem where they first commited to the LORD.
Abraham gave him Isaac
Jacob and his family in Egypt
Moses brought them out of Egypt
The land of the Amorites (the giants) gave you victory.
Balaam came to curse I made him bless you.
all the battles
fear, worship, sincerity and truth
Why do you think he would have to say these things?
Get rid of the false gods
You choose
“As for me and my family, we will worship the LORD”
What do you see in Joshua?
A man who has chosen the LORD and is leading his family in the same way.
That is the type of men we need today!!!
2. Jesus is worthy to follow
The bible is a love story to you
We are the only part of the LORD’s creation that has rebelled against HIM.
All the Universe Sun, Moon, Stars, plants, animals all obey be we have not.
GOD proved HIS love on the Cross
But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. How much more then, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath.
The Cross is the ultimate proof of his love for you.
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
We are saved through the cross and the and Christ alone.
You see love is a verb you show love not just feel it.
See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him.
My fear is that it is possible that some of us today my have a counterfeit relationship.
See saying something doesn’t make it true it is the action that follow the words.
What was the actions of Jesus?
Beaten, disgraced, crucified, buried, and resurrected
That is why there is no other way.
God gave his son for you even though you didn’t deserve it! THAT IS LOVE!!!
You know that Jesus can restore you to a relationship with him today.
There is no need to go though this life on our own when Jesus has so great desires to be apart of yours.
I don’t understand why He wants me it is because HIS love for you out matches your mistakes.
How do I have this relationship with Jesus?
It really isn’t hard.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
What does it mean to confess “Jesus is Lord”?
What does it mean to believe?
Will you let the LORD take control of you life today.
Will you move over to the passenger seat and let HIM drive?
You are here in this moment in time for a reason don’t let this opportunity pass you bye.
