Sermon Outline: "Robbing From or Returning To God”
The Call to Generous Giving (Mal 3:8-12)
8 Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. 12 Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.

Reap The Blessing of Obedience
Malachi 3:10 “10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”

Quote: "God’s blessings are not always material, but they are always perfect." - Charles Stanley
Illustration: Consider a farmer who must plant in faith, trusting that the harvest will come. He does not withhold seed out of fear of losing it, but gives it to the ground, trusting the process. It is God who gives the growth !!
Zacheus & Rich Young Ruler…

The Call to Joyous Living (Mal 3:13-15)
13 “Your words have been hard against me, says the Lord. But you say, ‘How have we spoken against you?’ 14 You have said, ‘It is vain to serve God. What is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the Lord of hosts?

Application: Reflect on any areas of discontent with God’s ways. Commit to trust and patience, knowing His justice prevails in His time.
Recognize the Reward for the Righteous (Mal 3:16-18)
16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name. 17 “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. 18 Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
God’s Attention is on the Faithful
Psalm 34:15 “15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.”
Psalm 33:18 “18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,”

The Righteous Are God’s Treasured Possessions

God’s Compassion and Mercy are poured out
Psalm 103:13 “13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”
Exodus 34:6 “6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,”
Matthew 7:7–11 “7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
John 15:13 “13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

Remember the Destruction of the Damned (Mal 4.1-3)
1 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.
Matt 25:31-46 = talks about this…
Warn the wicked
Genesis 4:9 “9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother’s keeper?””
Ezekiel 3:18–19 “18 If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.”
Romans 10:14–15 “14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!””
Quote: "The righteous shine distinct in a world of shadows." — D.L. Moody
Illustration: Consider a lighthouse standing out in the dark, guiding ships safely; so do the righteous shine in the world.
