Hey y’all, hows it going? Everyone good?
So, last week was fields of faith, what’d you think of it?
Cool! It was a little different being in the gym, but it was good.
Want to give a special shout out to our very own Addison Davis and Kyle Gordon, they crushed last week. They were able to stand up and preach the gospel to people who may have never heard it.
I do want to mention that, Kyle and I did play pickleball this week, and i beat him in both the games we played, so, ya know.
but anyways,
are y’all good?
Cool. SO, let’s get into it.
Got a trivia question for you. When does Christmas Season begin?
Okay, okay.
So what season are we in right now?
Yeah it’s thanksgiving
But after thanksgiving, December 1, we enter in to what we call Advent.
So what is advent. This is what we are going to be looking at the next few weeks as we come into Christmas.
Looking forward to celebrating the birth of Christ. Look forward to celebrating what CS Lewis called, the Grand Miracle.
That God became man.
And why Christmas is really on the same level as Easter. For with out Christmas, there is no easter.
So Advent is a special time in the Church calendar.
Advent is designed to prepare our hearts for Christmas, to remind us of what Christ came to do.
So there are 4 themes to advent,
Hope, Peace, Love, Joy.
So tonight are going to be looking at Hope, how Christ’s coming gives us hope in this broken world.
So if you have a bible go and flip to Isaiah 9, we are going to read 2-7,
If you need a bible there are some right there around you, throw a hand up and someone will pass one to you.
